Sort of? When I decide something is a priority, I do run roughshod over other people sometimes. But on the other hand, people I know are more likely to be the beneficiaries of things that I believe ‘must be done’, and I’m pretty reluctant to actually hurt them when it comes down to it.
Willshaper: What are your dreams and aspirations? How are they going? What roadblocks have you run into, and do you have any advice for those following a similar path?
I want to have a comfortable, interesting life, and give support (for example: a place to live) to other people who have the risk tolerance for startup culture but not the resources to risk everything on the chance that it works.
It is not going very well, and I can’t really figure out why.

Hyleddin answered a question using the color pie. My actions and methodology are blue, but I’m fundamentally red, with a dash of black for directness and ego. If I see a way to get something done, and you haven’t given signals that you’re good at solving problems, I tend to be pretty dismissive- (and why shouldn’t I be? Everybody gets the benefit of the doubt, even if some people fritter it away).
Basically if I see the best way to do something I take it, and hangers-on are tedious. (I can’t say this always works for metaoptimization though).
This comes off as arrogant. I’m aware of this, and it’s not optimal, but maintaining that perception of direction makes it much easier for me to get others to listen to me, and that’s usually what matters.

As an old timer, I gotta say this thing is older than tumblr. I seen it way back in livejournal days and even from some professionals who maybe weren’t on either
professionals even? i mean, i know there’s that common mentality of “multiplicity is an epiphenomenon of BPD, therefore DID & OSDD-1 are redundant diagnoses”, and of course there’s a lot of comorbidity, but not like this thing where like.... people are identifying as BPD systems the same way that there are DID systems and OSDD-1 systems.
