5. How do you know when you’re finished writing a fic? At what point do you call it done?

Sometimes it's when I feel I have no more edits to make and i'm pleased with how it is....but more often recently it's been when I get sick of looking at it and I'm tired of editing it and I've begun to hate it and myself too much to keep trying to fix it. Then I post it and inevitably talahu'i or frausorge sees something beautiful in it that I didn't see, and I'm like oh ok i'll live

11. Oh no! You’re posting a fic to AO3 and completely forgot to write a summary. What is your summary-writing strategy?

I don't write summaries 😭😭 I probably should but I'm a big fan of pulling whatever sentence will hook people while giving the suggestion of a plot.

24. What colors, sights, sounds, textures, etc. inspire you? Do certain environments make you feel more creative than others

This is such an interesting question!!!!! I do think I tend to wire more in Spring/Summer/early fall bc late fall through early spring tends to be a hell season for me. That said there is absolutely nothing like rainy day writing. I will say poetry is written mostly at home by hand on paper (usually on a draft page of my sister's master's thesis even lol), but I love the texture of the paper in my planner for ideating/plotting, it's very smooth and feels very comfortable....me and a black or blue ballpoint pen and my dreams of a sweeping fanfic...yeah :) and that one can go anywhere! I wish I'd brought it to this autoshop waiting room smh

Love to also write a sentence or phrase or au idea on a scrap of paper or in a book/planner/my boss's business card etc...i just like the paper feeling under my hands more than anything

All of these songs are in playlists for fics at various stages of abandonment, because making flowing playlists is fun, but writing less so when you're in a massive creative block.

The overarching theme is pretty clear, I’d say. As Hanif Abdurraqib said about Carly Rae Jepsen’s music: The only thing to fall in love with is the idea of falling in love.

the girls that aren't girls fic my BELOVED. god I'm gonna say a lot about this whoops.

it started out as me wanting to write girls on the grid fic (hence the name of the doc), and morphed into a George/Alex/Lando AU where they all use she/her pronouns. leaning into the gender with a capital G sort of vibe, you know?

ANYWAY here's my notes from the very top of my google doc:

sort of quarantine gothic, sort of post apocalypse, sort of YA fantasy, sort of eco sci-fi, sort of horror??? idk bro

the general idea is, the three of them are at summer camp and then something happens to the environment around them that causes kids to start mutating in unpredictable, body horror-type ways. the camp is put under quarantine. and then alex disappears. (and then george and Lando break out to go find her in the scary mutated forest, duh)

also it's going to be my second horror fic in the f1 tag lmao & I'm SO excited for it to see the light of day at some point in the (hopefully) near future. it will be so niche and I will never shut up about it god bless

tell me about vegasfic

Oh god, this is an ancient fic idea from like...September/October? Idk Fir and I were still DMing on Tumblr so it took quite a bit of digging to unearth the worms but they have been documented, they are secure. The basic premise is Daniel and Charles go on a bender in Vegas (summer break 2019 canon) and then Daniel ends up having to call Seb (who’s also in the States for the summer break, but had planned on spending it like, travelling to national parks or something) to do some damage control and they just...all end up exploring their feelings for each other. I haven’t actually written much (and none of it is particularly interesting so far) so I’m just going to drop some of the notes that led to all this:
