i have an issue with some software i'm using

i look through the github issues, find someone has the same issue as me

maintainer responds "use our support channel on our discord [link to discord]"

i join the discord server, there's a million channels

i find the support related channels and look to see if anyone has my issue or if it's a known issue

can't find anything and i don't have the permissions to post in the support channels

i look at how to get permissions, i need to accrue "cakes" that i can then use to get the support role

this is apparently to deter "spam"

alright, fine

i spend some time participating in the server

finally have the cakes and get the role

ask my question with as much detail as i can think to give

some time later

i get a response that is that is the length of a preamble on an online recipe filled with so many slurs that i didn't even know some existed and the responder is psychoanalysing me

about to read the actual solution when suddenly all the channels disappear and now i'm in a channel called "the-idiot-zone" and i have the role "dunce" because i "didn't respond fast enough"

i leave the server and never touch the software again
