I've said this before on here, but I will say it again.
You CANNOT let "recovery" become your identity.
Yes you have to let go of the ED identity, but you also have to then let go of the recovery identity. You need to learn who you are without both.
Ranting post again.
I got my period back. And gained 15+ pounds. I feel like shit and my cycle is still suboptimal (short luteal phases) which means I will most likely not be able to be pregnant without treatments. I hate that I did this to my body. I hate that I’m fatter than ever and still can’t conceive a fucking baby, while my skinny sister just gave birth and is thinner than I am and she got pregnant after a month. I’m torn between following all the tips from hypothalamic amenorrhea blogs (telling me to eat more, more fat, less fiber, etc and not exercising except for walking) and living again. Right now, I don’t exercise the way I want to (which means barely at all), I eat even when I’m not hungry just because I’m scared my cycle just won’t happen and I just feel constantly blah. I don’t know if it makes sense, but it still feels like restriction to me. Started seeing my therapist again, and she says I should stop obsessing because it’s not getting me anywhere and it’s definitely not getting me pregnant. But I also feel like if I wait for the fertility treatments it will take forever and the clock is ticking. There are so many treatment plans out there for HAers but I’m not sure I’m willing to spend that much money. Ugh. I want to be able to control this so bad, but I can’t. I feel hopeless.
bad news is I think I'm in the throes of hypothalamic amenorrhea, which apparently take 6+ months to get back to normal
good news is I can use myself as a counterargument to calling women """menstrators""" lmao
gorgeous gorgeous girls know that their bodies did nothing wrong and that they deserve to recover;) love this podcast sm it makes the whole process of eating more and resting a little easier but its so underrated so give it a listen maybe hh

Hormones, Birth Control, Periods, UGH
Today on the blog we are chatting about all things menstrual cycle, birth control, and hormones. If any of that ain’t your thing- don’t stress. I’ll see ya next time around! Before I start this post, I want to make this disclaimer: I don’t want to turn this into a sociopolitical or religious conversation. This is me sharing my experience. This is not a medical conversation. You can disagree…

So, I don't wanna brag. But I have just had a wonderful moment of recovery realisation.
I was at a free event, with all our meals povided (which I am hugely grateful for!). And absolutely no exercise/movement.
If this had happened two years ago, I would have hid in my room, and nibbled at the few foods I deemed "healthy enough". But not this time baby.
This time I helped myself at breakfast and lunch buffet to all the fun things (like the pastries and the breads), I ate biscuits at break, I had the full roast dinner with starter and asked for ice cream on my crumble for dessert.
I ate everything, and I enjoyed the food too. Like really enjoyed it. AND on top of that I did it with ease, laughing and making new friends while we ate. My period is back, and my mind is free.
This is it. Guys I've recovered.
