Let’s play the “each individual character might be fine in context (or not), but the pattern overall is definitely ableist” game, Star Wars edition:
Anakin Skywalker: multiple amputee, second incident of limb-loss is directly tied to switch from hero to villain, survives prequel series, dies in original series, the “wise old mentor” character dehumanizingly refers to him as “more machine than man” in the series in which Anakin is an antagonist.
Darth Maul: amputee, villain, dies and comes back several times, status at current end of series unknown.
General Grievous: drastically injured in backstory leading to use of nearly full-body prosthetics. Villain. Dies in the movie he’s introduced in, gets more appearances in serial taking place before his death.
Luke Skywalker: amputee, hero, survives original series (which is set up as a Happily Ever After), dies in sequels.
Chirrut îmwe: blind, hero, dies in the only movie he appears in.
Saw Gerrera: chronic respiratory condition. Supporting character on same side as heroes, though portrayed as an extremist. Dies in same movie as Chirrut. Appears in multiple serials taking place before his death, in which he has not yet developed his respiratory condition.
Kanan Jarrus: blinded halfway through series, dies in last season. A non-disabled character is brought back through Force shenanigans and proceeds to convince Kanan’s student that Kanan can’t be brought back the same way.
If you know of any disabled Star Wars characters who survive the overall series, please tell me. Bonus points if they’re not villains, and/or are women.
tonight i really want to...write some shit. like. i’m thinking 1k, maybe 300 words each in a few 150 words meme things (Redux, choke chain, splinters?)
but mostly there is a distinct possibility i will just end up drinking a mug of nutella hot chocolate and going to sleep at 9:30 PM
Yura: tell me a joke
Sergei: you look great today
Yura: thanks

Yura: wait
Today is a good day to practice self-care by blocking people.
No, I do not need to interact with every person screaming wrong opinions on the internet. No matter how loud they’re screaming. No, I do not need to engage with their vitriol to correct them.
My energy is better spent taking care of myself and the people around me.
Today is a good day to block and move on.
Okay okay so my current project is a jellyfish cat and then I’m making a Loch Ness monster but one of my friends just gave me a great plushie idea for after that! A dragon that hoards beanies (and possibly other crochet/knit garments). If I make the dragon, what color combo and/or color scheme do you think I should use for it? And bonus question for when I start on their beanie collection, what do you think is the dragon’s favorite color?
The absolute stress of an exam in a language you know like five words in...the STRESS
Some part of my brain just went "hey, what if marcia had a sibling??" and I would DIE if someone could use the brain cells I don't have and make ideas for this
