I can literally talk for hours about how an obsession with hyperrealism is destroying cinema and theatre and general acting but ill save you all the trouble and just angrily simmer
#its linked to a complete lack of media literacy and needing everythinf to be groundbreaking and brand new#when there really is nothing new under the sun and THATS OK#understanding classic techniques both in acting and directing etc is a GOOD thing#it strengthens your performance and allows you to create more interesting#and nuanced work#urgh im tired and im angry at how theatre is being treated by an obsession with realism in film#i caaaare#about theatreeeee
