You once wrote that it is hinted that humans and andalites will wage war at some point int the future. I wonder what the Animorphs might do (with or without Rachel and assuming that the others survived the encounter with The One)? Or what the andalites will do after defeating the humans? Personally, I like to headcanon that other aliens might show up as well and divide Earth amongst each other as the colonial powers did with Africa and South America.

Fun thing about nerve damage

I didn't know my heating pad was hot enough to burn until I touched it with a different part of my back

I've been laying on it with bare skin and trying to press myself harder into it cause I can't feel anything.

I love the blocking of the first Stydia kiss. Like first of all I just like that its vulnerable and intimate, but I especially love after the kiss because Lydia pulls away, but Stiles doesn’t move back. And while they’re talking he keeps looking at her lips and still not leaning back because he’s so focused on her. But as soon as Lydia starts avoiding eye contact and purses her lips, he changes how he’s sitting to give her space (Stiles Stilinski boundary king). And its all *subtextual*

So, since you mentioned all those delicious details, I had to force myself to rewatch Stydia’s first kiss for the millionth time…and then a few million more times–purely for research purposes, I assure you😉 Seriously though, I never tire of reliving this moment. There are so many things to love about it. Not only is it visually stunning – like an actual cinematic-quality piece of art – but also, it’s so full of emotional depth. Every time I look at it, some other nuance touches my heart in a permanent way.

And what’s not to love about a kiss that starts out so hurried and desperate but which ends so tenderly and dare I say…reluctantly for both of them? After all, that reluctance alone speaks volumes. I think it’s fair to say, where the kiss ends, a gold mine of subtext begins. For instance, Lydia is the first to pull away, but it’s worth mentioning that she only does so after Stiles’s breathing has returned to normal. She waits for that cue. She waits until she knows he is okay. And the way she breaks from their kiss is equally significant. She does it so gradually – first dragging her lips away from his, then barely leaning her forehead against his, and finally, there is that delicate little nose bump. It all leaves so much room for interpretation. As does the fact that she keeps her eyes closed – even longer than Stiles does. Stiles, who was not expecting Lydia to kiss him just then – even though he has been waiting and hoping for it to happen for years. There’s also the completely awestruck shine in Lydia’s eyes when she does open them. Or what about the difficulty she has swallowing after she says, Yeah, you did, like she is struggling to get a hold of all the emotions that are flooding her system. There’s even the way she doesn’t seem to know what to do with her hands afterwards – pressing them to her thighs while they are talking, then awkwardly bumping Stiles on the knee when he shifts away from her.

I mean, this girl has just had the best, most intimate and awakening kiss of her life. She is wrecked. At the same time, she remains aware of Stiles, and the look on his face tells her everything she needs to know about what this kiss means to him. If that weren’t enough, she is also (probably for the first time) allowing herself to admit that his feelings for her are far from unrequited. It's a lot to take in. So she deflects, and there goes Stiles, being the perfect human that he is, instinctively understanding and respecting Lydia’s boundaries. I don’t think he gets enough credit for how incredibly selfless that is. Because there is undoubtedly a whirlwind going through his head and his heart as he processes what just happened. There has got to be so much he wants to say to her. But he stays calm, he listens more than he speaks, and he gives Lydia the space she needs so she doesn’t get more flustered.

The best part is, I doubt he’s even trying at this point. Interacting with Lydia comes so naturally to him. It all goes back to the unspoken connection they have, the way they know each other’s body language and expressions and respond in ways that always feel right. Stydia more than complement each other, they balance each other out. That’s why seeing them together is always such bliss. It’s why watching and rewatching their scenes is always so rewarding.
