PROFESSOR X FTM READER FLUFF
Professor Oak!
He is Kanto's celebrity grandfather figure at his current age and a general joy to be around. Very sweet and doting towards all pokemons regardless of size or strength and even kinder towards children! Among the professors, he serves as the Mr. Rogers sort of niche celebrity. In his younger years, he served as the tv host for pokemon's education program and in his older years as a professor, he guest stars on a radio show that he can perform at his lab.
Though he can be a bit cynical and stern at times, it's with good intentions as he simply wants to nurture everyone's potential, including yours considering he was the one to help you during your transition. When you were originally his girlfriend in his earlier adult years, he was quite surprised to hear of the future you wanted for yourself. Not angry, just surprised! And then he insisted that he would be in it too. That's when you knew you picked a good man to be your husband. Your transition and his education was quite an expensive price to pay, but despite that; he somehow managed to save a little secret savings that he put towards your wedding ring. You still think fondly of how he proposed, telling the story with a laugh that clearly still embarrasses him with how he nearly fumbled it. But he can't help but to smile, knowing your ring matches his.
Professor Elm!
It goes to say that he's the friendliest of the professors, since his research somewhat depends on it! The science behind Pokemon eggs is still relevant to today and there are even some factors that pokemons need to be nurtured in the same way a mother talks to her pregnant stomach by reading books so the baby is born and imprinted onto her voice. Out of the professors, he makes the very best dad, which is quite the requirement considering he is one!
Before he became a professor, he was a single dad at university, handling school and an infant at the same time. It's not easy to be a father at such a young age. You're not his child's father, but you became his over time. Elm and his child grew up with you, the three of you slowly changing to be the best selves you can achieve and you did! Elm loves you, loves you, loves you! And he still is the only one you know that can burn scrambled eggs. You still love him anyways.
Professor Birch
Out of the professors, he does the most amount of field work...which is great...if he KEPT at least ONE battle ready pokemon with him at all times!!!!
When Birch fell for you, he fell HARD. Boy couldn't keep his mouth shut when he first saw you, with how easily you took down a pack of Houndooms that were after him by targeting the leader and dispatching the rest until they backed away. Boy blurted everything out about how he's a professor and how he was collecting soot samples, yadda yadda, then you shut him up, point out that he got burned, and started treating his wounds. You didn't feel safe with him going back down the volcano mountain on his own, especially as a dust storm was picking up so you took him back home. Needless to say that when he saw you with the binder off for the first time, his jaw dropped too and he stood there doing nothing for too long that you had to tell him to do something or you'd kick him out as a joke. He tells the story with big pride, puffing up his chest of how this BEAUTIFUL and HANDSOME man came to save his dumbass. He's your dumbass. Forever.
Professor Rowan
Out of the earlier mentioned professors, he's the most level headed grandpa that knows the right kind of advice that can help someone. Rowan had always followed a certain kind of philosophy. When most people get into a certain kind of trouble, sometimes their immediate thoughts are, "I can't tell this person!" Well, in his scenario, he wants people to come to him if they are in trouble. He recognizes that not everyone has a guidance figure. If he can serve to be that and help people be in less danger, he will, to the best of his ability.
Despite that, Rowan does feel a certain distance surrounding him, as to who he can truly feel connected to in a raw and innate way. He didn't live a former life of privilege prior to his tenure as a professor, but having you as his researcher helped ease his nerves. You were a bit older than him at the initial point of meeting. You helped Rowan not give his 100% at work when you recognized the signs of burnout happening. Giving him the much needed guidance he needed as a new graduate to perform well. Rowan is typically very rigid and set in his ways of thinking, but he'll always save enough time throughout the day, to make you a cup of tea, remembering fondly through photo albums of how differently you used to look and how he wishes to have met you sooner.
Professor Juniper
Juniper in particular is bright, bubbly, charismatic! She definitely carries the spirit of Unova on her shoulders. It was for this reason that she was chosen to help the region kind of ease back into normalcy after Team Plasma's original plans fell apart. The region was naturally put at unease and some tensions were still left in the minds of people on whether or not they were cruel to their pokemons.
But once she's done playing as that representative for the region's restoration project...she needs nothing more than you to be next to her. You know exactly how to help! You're her partner after all! Juniper feels at her best when she's active so you're her best fitness coach! She remembers how much smaller you used to be before you went on T. Now she likes to take selfies with her face compressed with your bicep to remind everyone that she's taken.
Professor Sycamore
Out of the Professors on this current list? Easily the most romantic. Candle lit dinners? Dancing in the moonlight? Cafe dates and fancy restaurants? Oh honey, do you even need to guess?
You feel very much pampered by this Professor. It's suffice to say that the two of you serve as each other's eye candy. But admittedly, he's still very meek at seeing you do your injections despite how many years you've been together. He's got his little discomforts. But you're his big strong man that can take care of it. His insecurities melt when you make eye contact and he knows everything's gonna be okay.
