He has never mentioned wanted to record live band a second time so maybe it’s something that was never on the table!

well, there were a few times through 2017 where he would talk about recording with the live band, and seemed to imply or say that he would most likely do it that same way again next time, including this interview:

“I found out a lot about myself on the recording of this album. It’s definitely made me more confident in the studio. You know, I’d learned a bit over the last five or six years with the lads. This was a new experience recording with a full live band, and of course I was gonna be nervous. I had every right to be really, you know. I was basically playing in a band with guys who do that job for a living and I’m coming in to play on a record with them. Self admittedly not the greatest guitar player on the planet, but good enough for what I need it for. But i think the next time I do it, I’ll play probably with the same guys, I’d imagine? If it’s not broke don’t fix it type thing, and go in and have a bit more fun. I think at the start, I’d say the first few days, I was quite nervous in the recording of it. After a while, I loosened up and got really into it and was mixing stuff on the board and really getting along with everyone, and it was really good fun.”

and of course that’s from over a year and a half ago, so when don’t know for sure if or when his feelings about it changed, but it does seem like that was something that was a possibility in his mind at the very least, so i don’t think it’s crazy to have assumed that he WOULD go back to the full live band recording for nh2, you know??

it IS interesting tho, if he’s decided it’s not something he wanted this time, because it WAS something that he was super adamant about having last time and KNEW from the start that that’s how he wanted to record his first album. so what is it that changed for him, you know?? was it a scheduling thing. was it just that he wanted to experience it that way because that’s the way they USED to do it in the time of a lot of his influences, and now he wants to experience a more current day traditional recording process. was it TOO meticulous for him. like what was it??? 

and it’s especially interesting to wonder about with this bit of interview in mind where he talks about how you can hear on the album that he recorded with a live band, but how it’s still a TOTALLY different experience live, and with this quote talking about the biggest challenge being explaining exactly what he wanted and translating that from his head to the song. between those and the talk about going in more of a slow hands direction on the george ezra podcast, i can’t help but wonder if stylistically the music itself is going in a different direction this time, to the point where he doesn’t feel like the live band would be an advantage to the sound he wants to achieve, if that makes sense???

I have food poisoning.

Logically, as i work in a food-based industry, i should call in to work. Text my boss. Ive been told over and over again, call in, its not held against you, do not come in if youre sick.

So whats up w my anxiety of calling in. Like why does my brain go from "youre sick = stay home" to "youre letting everyone down, youre a failure and a waste of space, no one will miss you when you kill yourself" like!! Calm down!! Lets drink some damn water!! Whyd you have to jump back to suicide!!!!!!
