Welcome to another episode of ranting my grievances with streaming services and begging y'all to own your media.......
So I have known for a while that I loved physical media over streaming services. I have loved vinyl for years but I also love me some spotify and I am willing to pay a little extra in order to have no ads, I am not willing however to pay a crap ton extra just to have some ad free peace when watching shows or movies. I first loved streaming services but it has become abundantly clear the past few months that the new ways are garbage and we must return to DVDs!! The only thing I can compare to is Supernatural I have no other evidence so that is what i will speak on. Supernatural's contract just ended with Netflix so it was removed, but quickly picked up by Peacock and Prime. Now I have disliked Peacock for a while because the ads are incredibly copious and extremely annoying. Before Supernatural's move I complained about the fact that the music is not the same on Netflix as it was in the original show. If you have DVDs you will hear different songs from the ones on Netflix which is very weird and frankly cheap. We should not have to pay an arm and a leg for less ads and crappy music. After the move i checked Supernatural on Peacock and Prime only to find the same crappy music that Netflix had used.
All this to say, own your media. You will find cool stuff and you won't have to pay an arm and a leg for subpar quality that streaming services think they can get away with selling you.
*steps off soapbox* "thanks for coming to my TedTalk"
