AU for Armored Soul.... IN SPACE???? :D

Isidor serves on board the starship Narheim alongside his fellow crew members Marthe, Garan, and Lothar. His mission: to help keep the galaxy safe from mysterious entities known as Ghosts. He’s part of an elite group who keep digital scans of their brains within the Narheim’s database, allowing them to “resurrect” into cloned bodies if they die in combat. These scans are updated as often as possible, essentially a backup of members’ entire lives.
But disaster strikes as Isidor dies, and his scan is accidentally uploaded into the onboard computer of a suit of power armor, usually used to explore deadly environments. Because of safeguards in place, he can’t shut down the power armor and re-upload to a cloned body…and even if he did, he has no brain to scan. All the memories he’ll make in armored form will vanish when he “resurrects” next.
Of course, this is when Ghosts pour from the dark places between the stars, led by a creature calling itself Paranoia. Isidor will need more than power armor to keep the galaxy safe.
