On the one hand, ‘raised’ might just mean that Rose literally helped raise the moss from the pit to the top of the hill (who knows why she did that, but hey, I don’t know moss). On the other hand... ‘Raised’ is very specific wording. Raising something implies caring for it and nurturing it. And it stands out as a very very very pointed description to use with the kid who lost this mother at birth, and never got to be raised by such a woman himself.
Secondly, the way Pearl makes virtual dolls of her friends like the world is her own little Polly Pockets model is always fun, but she must have amazing visual memory to be able to pull off walking one up a hill like a shadow puppet.
Third... why the hell was Rose raising carnivorous moss in the first place?? Rose, you wild card. I guess coddling vicious maneating creatures you find in the wild is an inherited trait.
