which normally, i’d be pretty upset that literally NOTHING happened but this video was so DOWNRIGHT HYSTERICAL that i don’t think it needed any

that also means that none of my last-minute predictions were correct, but i think there’s a lot of room for those to happen next time a sidequest releases and there’s an actual plotline picking up (THERE WAS NO LORESTAR WHAT MFER WHERE ISSSSS IT)

also on the topic of the lore before we get to the good stuff: by about the halfway point in the video i was FULLY convinced Omega Side Order was happening. don’t ask why that was the conclusion i jumped to, but i’ll tell you why anyways! as soon as i realized the stream bit where Mr Star listed off every single character and the weapon(s) that represent them was actually just foreshadowing for each appearance in this video and it was only ever on his mind because he was using the list himself, i went: “oh so he’s gonna do splatanas last and Omega will be missing” LMAO

not gonna lie, that would have been an INSANE plot twist, but i was SOOO convinced this was just an elaborate setup for Omega to be in the Memverse at the end and have the video leave off on that bombdrop of a cliffhanger like “so the decavitator- wait where’s omega he literally said he would be here” (side order music fades in)

also don’t you dare think for a moment that i’m going to mention Omega and not clock Mr Star’s shit for that Nightz Decavitator I SAW IT IMMEDIATELY. YOU CANNOT HIDE FROM ME.

BUT NOW THE MOMENT YOU’VE ALLLLL BEEN WAITING FOR

THE STUFF THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED (my bingo card)

i’m gonna get this out of the way: no, i’m not counting the Mahi Worker as a new character, yes i crossed off the female character box but she’s not new so i won’t count her

We (finally) get a female character: okay so we all know who made a guest appearance today. she’s not new but i was NEVER expecting her to ever show up again so i feel like i should take her saying more than like 5 words as her being an actual character now?? ykw we take those, don’t ask questions just count your blessings also still not fully convinced mr star was sober when he wrote that section but its ok it was funny FOR THE RECORD THAT WAS A JOKE

but oh my GOD the Mahi Worker (slash Annabeth Christina Rachel slash Kelsey even though i can count the amount of people that unironically use that name on one hand) was SO FUNNY like literally the highlight of the video. i was GAGGED. ALSO SHE’S A SPLATLING MAIN?? i feel like this was the most surprising part of the video especially since Apollo already uses splatlings so why add a new character but i love her and i hope she shows up again and again and again and

i should also mention Apollo swearing was the funniest thing ever i genuinely lost it (esp because literally last night i said to myself “he probably thinks he’s above swearing” …so about that)

but that’s all that was on my bingo card so i’ll add a couple of general thoughts too:

-i just love Apollo guys he absolutely carried this episode (as he usually does) like i swear every time he neglected to give certain weapons kits i was CACKLINGGGG literally everything he said was just so accurate to how splatoon fans think and oh my god he had some of the best one-liners i think he’s ever had this was so worth the wait for him alone

-it’s also worth mentioning the “what in the super smash bros everyone is here” joke i’ve already seen multiple times that was such a fun idea to actually bring a bunch of characters in… except when Alpha showed up i did immediately go “what is HE doing here” in the same way Mr Star talks about Matt from wii sports soooo

-DAVE ON DA BATTLEFIELD!!! idk i just felt the need to point that out it made me giggle i might actually be the only Dave fan i think

-omega is ableist canon (guess which character used to be evil impossible edition… this can also go for alpha’s shitfucked gal fantasy or whatever the mcfricken FUCK that was)

-im talking about my diva again i don’t care can she be the pink star please like i know i have my own daughter and whatever but give me the goddamn pink star

also i SWEAR. IF SHE’S THE STUPID LITTLE EXPLOITER I WILLLLLL BE PUNCHING DRYWALL

benophie s4 was amazing bc they managed to connect all the storylines without taking away fm the main pairing. and yes, it was a good visual adaptation of the book that did enhance certain elements.

however i do wish they had used important lines of dialogue sophie and benedict have in the book. the show kind of....rewrites them? i just dont understand why they didnt use certain parts.

the other thing is that bridgerton is so dead set on the starting and ending on a ball thing that i feel like they could have broken out of that pattern this season by focusing on the trial. I feel like changing it fm a jail scene to a trial, that they had something juicy going on and then they...settled it out of court.

I am annoyed they cut the 'my fiancée' line and the 'you have stolen her childhood' line. both strong benedict lines that show his anger for what has happened to sophie, now that he understands everything. they instead opted to redirect that anger towards violet and anthony, and then later in defense of francesa. which i thought was great. i enjoyed those changes. but im greedy and i want everything.

araminta's hatred for sophie and the conclusion of that....while there's no redemption and the news that she was fucking up the dowries of her daughters puts her relationships with each of them in the dumps, i still dont really feel like it's enough. but it still follows the book. so that's not really the show's fault.

still much better than s3. so.
