Terra isn't a real therapist

Get mad all you want, it doesn't change anything.

Terra thinks that everyone can be friends and that they can "work it out" and feels like she's the one to help them along. Especially when she was Earth.

She basically lived in this sunshine princess mentality that everyone was her best friend.

Terra is only a "certified" therapist because Monty got her license for her.

How can you trust a therapist that didn't put ANY work into earning that license themselves?

When you go to learn a new skill, you have to go through all the steps and practice until it's to your level of perfection or satisfaction. Sure, they're robots and can just download that information but that's not the same as actually putting in the work yourself.

Terra should've earned it herself and gone through all the steps into learning how to actually help people. And then got her license.

A good example of this is Nexus. Nexus was mentally unwell and grieving. It wouldn't be a good idea to try pushing them like Terra did, which led to Nexus's comment about her. It's also not a good idea to go to a therapist that's a family member, they tend to be biased towards themselves and the family rather than listening to your issues.

I do feel like Nexus was in the right to lash out at her due to the circumstances. It was harsh, but it was definitely something that needed to be said. And what did they do in response to that?

They disowned Nexus and threw them in a cell that electrified them anytime they tried escaping or just something that seemed "dangerous" in general.

HOW IS THAT HELPING?!

One of the many reasons why I connected with Nexus as a character was because we both were dealing with similar trauma.

Death of a loved one, depression and grief, the high expectations of a family, the identity dysphoria, etc.

The whole time watching I couldn't help but think "they're gonna save Nexus, right?" You know, to show that even if you're not mentally well, you can still be ok. As a show that's fanbase is apparently mostly kids, why don't you make good examples of your characters and show that things can get better if you're willing to make them better.

And then they killed Nexus and continue to drag them through the mud because they will forever be seen as a villain and not the mentally unwell person they were.

That just tells me that mentally unwell people are forever seen as villains and don't deserve help.

I do think Nexus's fate could've been avoided. I also think Eclipse and Lunar/Cosmos could have a better relationship if Terra had put her foot down and made Eclipse apologize first before becoming "besties".

I'm sure someone is gonna say that you can only help those that ask for help. That's not entirely true. Sometimes it's hard to ask for help because you see yourself as someone not worth saving or you don't want to be a burden on anyone. There's many of reasons but if you see the signs that someone isn't well, why don't you try asking them what's going on.

It probably won't make a big change, not at first, but if you keep it up, it can help.

This world is dark and cruel enough as it is, we need to be that light.

maybe i'm being Too negative and it wasn't as bad as i feel it was but. i wanted one thing. one thing out of the ending. and that not happening does affect the way i feel about everything else, actually

a whole speech about her childhood being stolen from her and life being unkind to her and we don't even get to know whether she's actually alive (and, just as i suspected, away from her family/friends forever) or really dead. and they promised no ambiguous fucking endings

sorry to everyone that likes a bittersweet ending, but after years of suffering, all i wanted was for her to get to be happy with her friends. especially after having been kept away from them for the majority of the past two seasons

she did everything. everything for them. to get back to them. to fight for them. and it didn't even feel like they were even really friends anymore at the end. not good ones, anyway. she didn't get to spend any time with them. and they barely showed any worry for her. except right there at the end

all the promotion including the kids. all the talk about how important friends are, how powerful the party is together. and this is what we're left with

there is no sweet there for me. it's just bitter

can't even talk about the mike of it all. or hopper. it just sucks

mike still thinking about her all that time later. choosing to believe that she's still out there even if she can't be with him. keeping her picture on his desk next to him while he writes

hopper losing another daughter, but still having joyce. watching him move on...

Firstly we had this, about the whole murder thing...

A trial? Something difficult to deal with?

You mean that 40 second clip of them telling Betsy that they've postponed their honeymoon? That was hardly a trial was it?

And, dealing with things as a team? What exactly are they doing 'as a team'?

Then we have this...

Oh, oh it's about the marriage itself is it? Really? So was Lisa's dream about the literal honeymoon period of her marriage to Carla, to spend it interrogating the neighbours about a murder, and sharing bants & beers with Kit? Is that the marriage she was excited for?

Idk, it kinda feels like it actually was *just* about the wedding day tbh

Then of course they end with this little gem...

Their frequent presence *on screen*? Their life is *not* kept behind closed doors? Are we absolutely sure about that? They have a weird interpretation of the word 'frequent'

"Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves." Listen up Vincent, either learn how to swallow your pride and use the strength you were given or keep your mouth shut and sit down quietly. I might have gone off a little with this one. But tell me someone else sees this! Also I need to go listen to the whole saga again.

Hmm, I’m having feelings about this scene again, so before I get back to fic writing, I gotta just get this stuff off my chest.

See, in a lot of reconciliation fics I’ve read for KimChay, most often times when Chay asks why Kim acted the way he did, the reason is almost always some iteration of, "I wanted to protect you." Which is, in and of itself, it's not totally incorrect, but in my opinion, that answer has always felt a little off, yknow? Because it gives Kim the luxury of time in thinking about his actions and coming up with an excuse to justify his own cruel behavior. It gives him a way out that honestly feels a bit unfair to Chay, so most often it's totally brushed off to the side.

I'm not saying that answer is totally wrong, since I myself have used it in a roundabout way in my own fic, but the way I see it, at that specific moment, Kim's motivations as to why he dodged Chay and pulled away from him had absolutely nothing to do with protecting Chay and everything to do with protecting his own pride.

It's definitely not a calculated move; it's more impulsive than anything else. Lol It's an interesting thing to think about, since a part of me can't help but wonder: is this just a really mean habit he has, or is it because he didn't want Chay's perfect image of him to shatter?

Either way, whether it's part of his personality or all about protecting his image (I'm personality more leaning towards the former, ngl), Chay's wellbeing is not at all taken into consideration in this scene.

As a fan of Kim's character and trying to remain loyal to how he's portrayed in the show, I gotta not give him excuses, yknow? XD Lol

I think part of the reason this scene is so hard to watch for me is because, at the very moment at which Chay had needed Kim the most to explain to him what's going on, although Kim returns his feelings, the latter cared more about his own feelings than he ever did about the person he's in love with.

It comes to a head with their next encounter at the club scene-which is also painful af to watch-because in this moment, they both care more about their own feelings than they do each other, since Chay didn't even stop to think that Kim had just protected him from making a big mistake. And Kim didn't take Chay's feelings into consideration that seeing him would be hard to bear for Chay, considering how their breakup had gone down. :'D

In terms of character development, it's not totally a bad thing. After all, who in the world ever likes being caught red-handed AND called out (in this case, both Kim and Chay to each other)? In the beginning of the show, Porsche had a penchant for calling out Kinn's shit behavior-even when they were both aware that Kinn was already falling for him-and that allowed for the Theerapanyakul of that relationship to learn that if he wanted to be in Porsche's life, if he wanted Porsche to want to be in his life, more than loving him, Kinn also had to learn to respect him.

It's the same theme with both VegasPete and KimChay: there is a difference between loving someone and respecting them.

And for men like Kinn, Kim, and Vegas, can anyone even begin to imagine how difficult it would be to learn to respect someone, when all of them have lived their entire lives up until that point turning their noses down everyone else? That it's second nature for them to think of everyone else as trash?! That to have that sort of arrogance is part of why their family has been able to climb their way to the top?!

(The VegasPete novel makes so much more sense to me now, because Vegas found it so hard to learn to respect Pete that he had to create an entirely different persona for it! LOLOLOL HE HAD TO DISASSOCIATE, BECAUSE HIS ARROGANCE IS SUCH AN INTRINSINCT PART OF HIS PERSONALITY AS A THEERAPANYAKUL! HAHAHAHA! And Pete is all, "my baby is trying his best, so points for effort" Lol)

Kimchay's scenes up until this point have been tender and poignant, but there are moments even in the beginning where although Kim was falling for Chay already, he didn't respect him whatsoever (ignoring his calls, giving him homework without any intention of following up, etc.)

The breakup scene was a jostling reminder to the audience that we cannot ever forget that Kim is a Theerapanyakul, and with that name, comes all the hubris and arrogance that being a member of that family entails. There is credibility to what Pete says when he states that out of all of them, Kinn is the most normal.

In other words, Kinn is the most "normal" because not only does he genuinely care about the wellbeing of the bodyguards in a way the rest of the family doesn't (Tankhun is tactless when he speaks towards them, Vegas uses them as meat shields, and Kim is dismissive and cold towards them, etc), but also because of the softness he genuinely harbors inside, he's more easily able to let go of that arrogance (case in point: the forest adventure with Porsche).

Is it any wonder to Korn WHY the bodyguards can easily be bought off? :'D

(Side note: We know Kim himself is somewhat aware of his own vanity, as he was able to perfectly say the line in the screenshot without hesitation. On top of that, this is a very loaded line; wtf has he done before that he would even be aware of his own reputation?! Haha! I know the established fanon is also that he's bad at playing detective, but I wonder if it's not necessarily that he's bad at intel gathering, and more like he was having an off day with this particular leg of his detective work, since daddy dearest is actively making sure he's a couple steps ahead of his son. Hmm.

In my opinion, it lines up more with Kim's subsequent actions later down the road, and the overarching theme of KPTS (falling in love is in and of itself a humbling experience), as this gorgeous fucker did not at all think about the consequences of his actions. XD

It isn't until Chay has completely cut him off that Kim begins to learn that simply loving him won't be enough-will never be enough-to get him back in his life.

Shireen in the eyes of Val, the Wildling:

How Val suggesting that Shireen should be sacrificed is not an evil act of an evil woman.

But rather is the logic of a person born in the isolation of a tribe North of the Wall. Where, if there is a contagious disease with no known cure or treatment, that can lead to death; one person catching said disease could spread to others causing the eventual death of the whole tribe; unless the sick person is cast aside or sacrificed altogether. So when she says:

"If I had given birth to that poor child, I would have given her the gift of mercy long ago."

Val is saying she would have killed her own child if she was born sick and that would be an act of mercy, meaning not prolonging the child's suffering and her own. It's a cold and pragmatical way for a mother to think of her child, but it makes sense when you remember that living North of the Wall means putting practicality over emotions in the name of survival.

This was a Val that Jon had never seen before "Princess Shireen is the queen's only child."

"I pity both of them. The child is not clean."

Val saying she pities the mother and the child is again a reiteration of her opinion, that the girl should have been giving the gift long ago, before mother and child grew attached to each other, before the girl could grow and understand pain and loss. But now it's too late, Shireen is well aware of her condition by now and Selise is very protective of her, there will be suffering no matter what, whether Shireen dies from the disease or from someone killing her.

Val uses her logic again, action over emotion, when she says Shireen is not "clean". It's to say that Shireen still carries the sickness and could infect others, thus it's not safe to have her around.

I don't understand how the fandom is so eager to hate a woman, a low-born woman, of non tradition femininity while they excuse every wrong doing from noble woman, traditionally feminine and conforming woman.

When it's Catelyn mistreating the bastard son of her husband, wishing he was the one to fall from a tower and telling him that to his face. No, it's okay, she was only worried for her children;

When it's Sansa who wishes her sister death, it's fine because she is just dealing with her grief over Lady. When she is complicit in the poisoning of Sweetrobin, suddenly she is just a little girl unaware of the workings of medicine, even after the Maester's warning she could not know. She is innocent in this too.
