One of the… i think the second season was 'Batman In My Basement’, which the writers claimed in one commentary track was the complete antithesis of everything that they wanted to do in a batman story, and after the rebranding to The Adventures of Batman and Robin the show was stagnating in many ways. The good episodes were great, but there was a lot of poor quality filler :(

what I think carried BTAS into greatness mostly was really the oddly great voice acting, like for one show they had quite a lot of iconic voices come out of it. it’s easy to ignore the flaws of something if you have really great memories of some other part of it. I actually prefer The Batman over BTAS as a show itself, but the sad fact is every single VA is held up to those of BTAS and it’s a tentpole nobody can ever surpass (which is very sad because Kevin Michael Richardson was an amazing Joker himself)
