Five: Sorry I’m late, I was doing things.
Six: Hi, I’m ‘things’.
Hello, I have a kinda weird question, don't feel forced to answer if you don't want to. What name could we use to call you? N? Large N? OzymandiaN? Or the most common boy first name in N according to the first website that came in results- Noah?
Thanks for asking! My personal feelings about my name are similar to my feelings about my pronouns, which is that I know who I am and if other people want to refer to me that's more of a them problem than a me problem. So I will not be offended by whatever nickname you decide to use for me!
This might be an artifact of a lifetime of computer science - I'm used to thinking of names as "the term that's most convenient to use to refer to this thing in this context", and indeed in software it's common for any particular value to have many different names AND for one name to refer to many different value over the course of the program's run.
That said, the point of communication is to be convenient (or funny), so I can suggest some terms that seem least likely to cause confusion and/or most likely to be fun to say:
N - this is probably the most common way people refer to me on Tumblr, and perhaps the least likely to confuse people?
Large N - less convenient to write, but more precise. Useful if readers might otherwise think you're talking about @largelysufficientn, or some other N.
Dan - what people call me in the "real" world, inasmuch as it makes sense to consider the online world as not "real".
I suppose the other parts of my handle could also be shortened or combined, e.g.
Suffy - like Snuffy, the kindly snuffleupagus, but sufficiently different for copyright purposes.
Slargen - rhymes with 'bargain'
Slargen - rhymes with 'barge in'
Suffic, or perhaps 'Suffish'?
SuffLarN - I guess?
But really it's up to you - you can just say "hey you" when talking to me and I'll know what you mean, and when you're talking to anyone else about me use any name that you think will successfully convey my identity.
still feeling rlly stressed (orchestra stuff and just me in general being shitty) but i have to go to bed now
goodnight, all.
things really be fallin’ apart out here
Dave, hurrying in late to a newsie rally: Sorry I'm late guys, I was, uh, doing things.
Jack, walking in behind him, grinning smugly: I'm things.
Things get crushed. It's okay. Go get your future Girl.
