For the first time in my life I got called a man today. By an angry man with 3 children. It all started because I was walking Adonis to Tim Hortons for his donut and I didn’t want Adonis to play with his dog (Adonis is a trained dog by (@gta_working_dogs) and is trained NOT to play while walking with me and to heel at my left side. The man then began screaming at me (all while with his children) that I was a man and every foul mouth name he think of. However he kept going back to the fact I have muscles and look like a man. He said that with shoulders like that Im a man. He then proceeded to run out of things to say (he had been following me for two blocks with his kids saying these things) so he started saying “who do you think you are some Mrs. Fitness)?" I felt like turning around and saying “why yes I’m Ms. Figure Ontario” but I figured that wouldn’t get me anywhere. So I kept my mouth shut and kept walking. Poor Adonis couldn’t figure out why the man was yelling at us and kept looking back. It’s 2017. When are things like this going to stop. Its my right if I want to workout and eat right for a certain physique. That doesn’t make me a man. Nor does it make him any more of a man for name calling and harassing me. What kind of role model for his children was this man trying to make. Luckily the staff at the gym on the corner came out (he was that loud) and asked if I was ok. Inside I was like no I’m going to go HAMMMMM on this guy but I said I was fine, thanked the staff and kept on walking to Tim Hortons to get Adonis his donut. Eventually the guy just kept walking. Im proud to have risen above his crazy antics. Im proud of the body I have created and I don’t think that I look manly at all. Im 128lbs on stage….I have breasts, long hair and most importantly I am happy with myself. So what if I have muscle. Muscle is beautiful and shows extreme dedication. LIVE YOUR LIFE THE WAY YOU WANT! RISE ABOVE NEGATIVITY! Too big for figure they said. Do physique they said. I said I'll prove them wrong. And I did. I worked my butt off. Cardio, circuits, etc. 365 days later...Figure overall at Ontarios and 3rd at Nationals. Chipping away at what needs to be done for the next time I get on stage. Please don't tell me Happy Father's Day. It's not a compliment. I'm not a man. I'm not a father. My children have very active fathers. I'm divorced, and I'm a mother. I'm single and I'm a mother, But I'm not a single mother. And being single and a mother doesn't make me a father. I did not conceive via immaculate conception. Im not a man. I'm not a father. My children were carried in my womb for nine months, came out of my vagina and were breastfed for two full years. All things a father cannot do. I'm a woman. I'm a mother. I'm a coparent. I also help raise their other children, and those children are mine as well. While the sentiment is well intended, I find it dismissive of their fathers. My children have two grandfathers, one of those grandfathers are not related to any of them by blood. Listen honey, listen. I'm not a man. I'm not a father. father. I'm not a man. I'm not a father.
