I have read Summer Heat, and I was... so angry. I loved the fic, I loved their relationship, but I was so angry with Scott (and Liam) that I was almost shaking with it. So, jsyk, it’s not a Scott positive fic. Really good fic though. I Don’t think I’ve read Once in a half moon, but I’m gonna look into that right away =)

For whatever reason, I always picture Sterek as being that couple that skips babies and instead goes around accidentally on purpose adopting stray teenagers. Some they foster and some they act as honorary dads/brothers, etc. Friday nights always find them with extra kids somehow and Derek complains but he glows while he's doing it so no one believes him. Plus, he's the one that brings home puppies and gets the quiet kids to help with them. Thoughts?

Sorry, I can’t say I’m with you with that one. I picture them taking in kids of all ages, whoever’s lost their home to hunters, supernatural disasters, or even ran away from their families after being turned. But I love the idea of Sterek with babies. Especially Derek: cradling a baby close, rocking it to sleep and promising to protect it from now on; Derek calming down a fussy baby by flashing his eyes at it and watching it giggle and flash its eyes back. I just can’t with that, honestly, it’s too precious.

I also love the idea of them taking in older kids, people who are scared and suspicious, maybe, the way Derek was after the fire. Kids who are wary of the promise of people caring about them again, but slowly grow to realize they’ve found a safe space here, that they can be happy and loved. Exactly what Derek was trying to offer Boyd, Erica, and Isaac honestly, except he wasn’t in an emotional place during season two to really give that to them yet.

And maybe Derek would open up an actual orphanage, building it on the old Hale property. Maybe once some of the kids grow up they stay on to help take care of the next generation, and Beacon Hills becomes known as an official safe zone for children in need in the supernatural community. Or maybe it would just be Stiles, Derek, and a house, and word would spread about this couple who takes in strays. But either way, Stiles and Derek taking in lost kids of all ages –– who in turn help out taking care of each other –– is one of my favorite future headcanons for them <3

Sometimes I save fics that do that as a draft and look at it in my drafts and it'll have the read more but sometimes I have to just look at it on the web

Read Mores are finicky on mobile. I either share to Pocket and read it on that app or push the link to my computer for later when I suspect it's happening.

Maybe add a link to your AO3 link at the top of the post above the Read More? ^^ That way they can just go to the fic on AO3 if Tumblr is being bratty.

It's just a Tumblr thing. :/ for whatever reason, read mores on asks don't actually show you more on mobile.

Wow, I had no idea this was happening!! There have been a lot of annoying little things about my tumblr mobile experience, but at least read mores have always worked for me.

Thank you guys for the suggestions to readers on how to get around the problem. 

For my most recent fic, I think I’ll go ahead and put it up on AO3 so people can click that link if the read more isn’t working for them like helandgarmr suggested.

Sterek thoughts: Stiles and Derek meet online but on a site that uses message boards and deals with arcane knowlege (magic, history, whatever). They've been talking for ages and pretty much carry the conversation and they email each other frequently as well. Stiles loves talking to Derek. The problem? Stiles sincerely thinks that Derek is at least 70 years old. (Cora signed on one day under Derek's ID and said as much as joke but Derek never SAW it so he never corrected it. (1/2)

Plus, Derek makes old man jokes and hates technology.) They find out they are going to be at the same conference and agree to meet for lunch. Stiles shows up, can’t find Derek (the one guy wearing a red sweater and would have to be, like, Derek’s grandson. His super hot grandson) and is about to leave when Hot Grandson cautiously calls out his name. Turns out Derek thought Stiles was super young. Like, high school young (Fuck you. I’m in grad school). Lunch takes a really long time. (2/2)

also derek making old man jokes!!!! yes!!!! sign me the fuck up!!! he’d come off as such an old, grumpy man and i love that so much (i bet stiles constantly teases him about it when he finds out how young derek is).
