There was no clear indication as to why they were all out here. Perhaps it was looking for survivors over all, but they all knew why they were here. London, England. Right where the beam had been. Kaidan looked up to see the unsettling remains of the Crucible and the ‘seen better days’ Citadel. But it was hard to concentrate on any one person when all you were thinking about was Shepard. One of the few missions he had actually be on where survivors did matter.
This city for the most part had been evaporated into nothing. The Normandy had even been crashed on a planet that was not Earth, but it being a high grade frigate was equipped to get about efficiently without the Mass Relays. The rebuild process was going be slow at the least, but at least there would be people to help it along. Kaidan moved over the rubble, not many around him. The SSV Normany and its crew were all near-by. Though they had separated to be able to look more accurately.
Though Kaidan had never seen so many casualties in one place, so many dead. Alien or not. His pistol was not drawn, but he was also at the ready. It was hard to imagine the war really being over. The Reapers gone, all synthetic life, gone. He was still not sure how it had happened, how it had progressed to this point. But those facts were there, anything machine was just simply not there. But the mechanics were. The network was still there.
Still moving slow through the rubble, Kaidan turned his head, out of the corner of his eye saw a helmet. Upon closer inspection, it was an N7 helmet. He picked it up, wiping it off as best as he could. It was hers. It cause him to frantically look about his surroundings. “Shepard?” He questioned a bit uneasy. It was quiet and his voice he could hear the echo in the rubble below him.
