jakku is an interesting planet. a marvel. a unique habitat of many incredible species and--

qian thinks she’s just passed the same dune-cactus for the eighth time. so, alright. even her own curious little cerean mind, parched for a new discovery, couldn’t battle the sort of redundancy and monotony only a desert planet could provide. she lifts a hand from the handle of her swoop to briefly readjust her goggles, and nearly sighed in relief when she spotted a landmark (an odd-looking rock vaguely shaped like a ferret) that signified that indeed, she hasn’t been zooming about in circles.

(please save her from this sandy hell.) 

the things i do to spot sandworms, am i even in the right part of jakku-- her thought process is fittingly interrupted by a colossal annelid breaking through the dunes and diving back into its depths. it took all of her willpower to stay sat on her swoop and not to jump off and run in the general direction of the worm-like creature.

“beautiful, yes!” she shouts giddily. “this is the quality content that i signed up for!”

Hyejin never dealt well with the hot weather. It made her hand malfunction, and, well, her head malfunction too. Sweat was something ridiculous and it always made her clothes stick to her skin like some sort of goo. She couldn’t think very well and there were always droplets near her eyes to hamper her vision. Those were probably one of the few reasons why hell was always related to the heat.

Hyejin went to Jakku - a desert planet - anyway for a quick stop to get a delivery. With a scarf around her head to protect herself from the high sun she rode across the desert, gliding on her speeder towards the nearest town to finally meet her client. As if the small trip wasn’t painful enough for her to survive, finding someone nice enough to help her reach her destination was even harder. The girl would ask around about her client’s name but if she didn’t want to buy from them they couldn’t care less for her needs.

So her fingers played with the glove covering her metal hand. The end of it was already humid and Hyejin asked herself if stopping on Jakku was ever a good idea. Her eyes searched for someone who could look at least barely nice to help her out before landing on a human girl. They soon fell on her wrist to check if her guess was indeed true, and there was no indicator bracelet to tell her otherwise. Her feet pushed her forward, though not too quick because at such point in her day she couldn’t really care less.

With a fast movement of her human hand she tapped the other on her shoulder, already asking her question before even looking at them on the face. “Excuse my but you know Barabara Palvin?”

"Are you kidding? This thing bled acid. Who knows what it's gonna do when it's dead?"

“hm? what do you mean? if it’s dead then... it won’t be doing much, right?” qian questioned. spotting the large tail swing their way, qian grabbed the other girl by the forearm and dragged her down to a duck with an alarmed squeak. “please calm down, mister durgolosk! we just want to be friends. i’m qian! what’s your name?”

"Nothin' to do but throw rocks at tin cans, and we gotta bring our own tin cans."

“i’m sorry you’re poor.” he can’t exactly empathise, so he doesn’t try to. instead, he leans against the entrance and tries to keep himself away from the filth of this workshop as much he can ( while also trying to avoid looking at the ugly trandoshan in the corner ). “maybe if you work faster, you’ll be...less poor?”
