Intelligence history throughout stranger things pt 1

I'm working on a longer post for the bits of cryptologic history that's laced throughout stranger things. What's crazy is how many items whether D&D or History related are layered usually up to three times.

I'm still going with humanity is being threatened because NSA had an existential threat go rogue and now don't have the tools to fight the cold war, because the Nazis won ww2 somehow.

It's extremely interesting that will fashions himself as a wizard [or sorcerer] with lightning in his hands. This is a common symbol of groups within intelligence agencies that have to do with communication. Morse/Manual Morse code would fall into this category.

Classic Wizard is an ELINT program that used telemetry during the cold war for tracking soviet [though every country uses some variation of this tech] missle launches both ICBMs and SLBMs.

There is a GLARING throughline here and I wish I could talk to the consultants. I'd love to see their notes. Did they use cryptologic history parts 1-4? Maybe!

Civil Defense in the News - 29 Nov 2017

Howdy y’all, just wanted to make a short post in response to the newest missile launch by the DPRK. 

Although I said I am going to keep this blog informational and politics-free, and I am still going to uphold that promise, I would like to just talk about current world events. At present, North Korea has developed an ICBM (the HWASONG-15) capable of delivering a heavy warhead some 8,100 miles away. If shot at a proper, shorter trajectory, this missile can reach the US mainland. 

This might seem like a bleak, doomsday-style development, and already I’ve seen some fear-mongering on Tumblr with lists of possible target sites, but the fact of the matter is, in order for one state to effectively attack and dismantle another, the “victim” state has to have ALL of their defensive capabilities destroyed. This is virtually impossible if the DPRK is the aggressor against the United States. We simply have too many military bases, missile silos, aircraft carriers, and important departmental offices and secret bunkers. The DPRK does not have the ability to take out all of our defense capabilities simultaneously. 

While any attack is unfortunate and a turning point in global history, it’s important to remain as rational and calm about the situation as you can.
