Hawkins PD patch VS The Real World Intelligence Agencies [intelligence history within Stranger things pt 3]

Hey. So.

I have a bat shit theory? Or more of an observation, I suppose. I'll add more as I collect more information.

I want to just quickly look at Jim Hopper's Hawkins PD Patch

Full disclosure I am a USN Brat. I've heard my dad ask more people in 30 years "Have you heard of hunt for red october" more times than I care to remember. He worked within naval intelligence, as an example here is his patch

So, patches are generally tongue in cheek with in-jokes, but there's usually a ton of symbolism within.

Jim's patch reminds me SO MUCH of the DIA's:

Stars generally represent satellites or SIGINT [Signals intelligence] or member-states, cities, etc

The Torch for DIA means searching for truth or enlightenment.

Jim's patch has 20 stars and a torch with rays. I wouldn't be surprised if Hopper is some kind of spook or informant beyond what we've all ready seen.

Update Number 1, Jan 20th

So I found this patch for USS Proteus [funny enough dad was on proteus, weird] Anyway it looks similar in size shape and color. But here are some fun facts about the sea god myth that may apply to the show:

Proteus as a cultural reference has been used in various contexts with different nuances according to each of the aspects of the myth: a shepherd of sea-creatures, a prophet who does not reveal their knowledge, a shape-changing god, the power to transform matter, or the primary matter that can become different materials.

The German mystical alchemist Heinrich Khunrath wrote of the shape-changing sea-god who, because of his relationship to the sea, is both a symbol of the unconscious as well as the perfection of the art.

Some who ascribe a specific domain to Proteus call him the god of "elusive sea change", which suggests the changeable nature of the sea or the liquid quality of water

my personal theory no one will love is that this is some sort of US defense program like an AI that got out of control. buuuuut we may never know lol

considering I believe the uss eldridge is in the middle of hawkins national lab the proteus patch seems very intentional wrt shape.

Also just realized USS ELDRIDGE sounds a lot like our friend and savior, ELDRITCH

While screwing around with VECNA most likely being a caeser cipher I looked up hawkins within the context of cryptologic history and found a woman named Addie Hawkins who basically paved the way at the OSS for women to have better working conditions.

I was hoping for some kind of op name but I'll take this, too.

Room 40 Merges With British Army Equivalent

November 1 1919, London--The British had had numerous code-breaking successes during the war against Germany, most notably with the decryption of the Zimmermann Telegram by the Royal Navy’s “Room 40.”  After the war, it was unclear what would become of these efforts.  To ensure that the hard-won knowledge and techniques gained during the war would not be dispersed and lost, Lord Curzon recommended that a small effort continue during peacetime, combining the Army’s and Navy’s efforts.

On November 1, the Government Code & Cypher School was officially founded, merging Room 40 with its British Army equivalent, M1b.  The “school” name was chosen as a cover term by the Foreign Office, which would take charge of GC&CS within a few years.  Military intelligence operations having been considerably reduced since the Armistice, the organization initially employed less than 100 people.  GC&CS  is well-known today for its successes against Enigma in World War II, when it was based out of Bletchley Park.  After the war, it was renamed to the even more anodyne “Government Communications Headquarters” (GCHQ), and its efforts continue to this day.

You may be labeled a Terrorist, TOO...

In our public debates the issue of a national ID surfaces, occasionally.  Which thankfully we continue to resist.  However, the Feds figured out a way to “nationalize” our state IDs and Driver’s Licenses.  Most of us have had to deal with radical changes to what we tolerate when we travel, particularly by air.  If for any number of reasons you travel frequently by air, to expedite matters you may submit to the TSA, FEMA, and Homeland Security’s protocols to prove you are who your ID says you are.  Once you do!  They literally authorize the state issuing your ID to put a little star in the upper right hand corner.  With your little star, you get to quickly walk through the security check points us mere mortals must endure.  Now most of you will have no special star or notation in the upper right hand corner of your state issued ID.  Please note, the Feds may also attach certain derogatory notations.  If you have read any number of my essays here on Tumblr, you will have noticed that I at times seem to make some outlandish claims.  One being that Our Government, more precisely Our Shadow Government labels me a domestic terrorist. Above is an image of my California State ID.  Pay special attention to what my official state ID says in the upper right hand corner. Now raise your hands if any of you have the same notation.  If you do, you TOO may have been labeled a domestic terrorist.    

Ooooh please excuse my horrid appearance, the picture for the ID was taken just a couple of weeks after I had been shot twice and run over by a loaded F-350 pickup truck.  A FOXing Op, under Naval Intelligence and other “agencies” gone awry.  At the time of the photograph I was still having to use a walker to ambulate about as I was convalescing. Consequently my appearance was not a high priority at that time. Hahahaha…

Intelligence History within Stranger things pt 6

or;

I'm choosing to believe Tom Clancy has ascended into another side of pop culture history via Stranger Things making HFRO part of a fairytale.

Guys i'm losing it over here. So when season three came out there was a quick shot of hunt for red october in Walden Books. The book came out October 1984.

I didn't think anything of it beyond "that's funny" since I've been hearing about it my whole life. Dad being Mr Hunt for Red October and all.

But then! This morning - when i was tap tapping away on whatever post looking for gifs...I caught this from season one:

HFRO came out as a book in 1984. Season 1 is Fall 1983.

For historical context [lol] dad and his lunatic spook friends didn't have a home submarine. They operated out of Naval Security Group in the NSA OPS building at Ft Meade. Or, were stationed at various facilities around the world. Like Teufelsberg [we were in Japan and Scotland, Dad never went to Germany that was more army/air force intel Where as Northern Japan and Scotland were AF and NAVY]. If a submarine needed them, they'd go.

I'm sure it's just a fun nod in the show. However the mention of telemetry so many times in season 5 and the scene of Steve doing essentially a Crazy Ivan through people's lawns really gave me pause. It was like looking at jonesy.

So I don't think this necessarily proves anyhing. If I am running with my theory about this whole thing being some kind of computer program that backfired [or and along with brenner manipulating timelines] and Mike has to reverse engineer it bc he built it in the first place at Ft Meade, the earlier nod makes sense. Especially coupled with the cast photos in Teufelsberg where only Mike is dressed like a spook. or, Alec Baldwin in HFRO.

Intelligence history throughout stranger things pt 1

I'm working on a longer post for the bits of cryptologic history that's laced throughout stranger things. What's crazy is how many items whether D&D or History related are layered usually up to three times.

I'm still going with humanity is being threatened because NSA had an existential threat go rogue and now don't have the tools to fight the cold war, because the Nazis won ww2 somehow.

It's extremely interesting that will fashions himself as a wizard [or sorcerer] with lightning in his hands. This is a common symbol of groups within intelligence agencies that have to do with communication. Morse/Manual Morse code would fall into this category.

Classic Wizard is an ELINT program that used telemetry during the cold war for tracking soviet [though every country uses some variation of this tech] missle launches both ICBMs and SLBMs.

There is a GLARING throughline here and I wish I could talk to the consultants. I'd love to see their notes. Did they use cryptologic history parts 1-4? Maybe!

FOXing and Stressing...

The ordeal, or if you prefer the military exercise we knew as Jade Helm, back in 2015.  Represented an open escalation in operations and hostilities against my person by our government, more correctly its Shadow Government, the intelligence community, in particular Naval Intelligence and the Blood Occultic (Luciferian) Families.  It was marked by the active and vigorous deployment of assets under what they call “FOXing”.   For those unfamiliar with the terminology or the practice, I would that you should ask any friends or family with military experience especially those whose history includes support of intelligence operations here and abroad.  Any personnel deployed with Delta Force should be able to confirm the veracity of operations and protocols of FOXing.  I myself was unfamiliar with the term prior to Operation Jade Helm.  The practices I had heard of previously were in association to various “Stress Testing or Conditioning” of individuals within the Government.  Usually persons whose very job descriptions implied stress and sensitive material. 

Initially “Stress Testing” of individuals was meant to duplicate real life extreme encounters.  As far back as the ‘50’s, expanding in the ‘60’s, ‘70’s and continuing throughout the Era of the Cold War.  Government Agents would say roll into the subject person’s home while they were sleeping and snatch them out of bed.  Hood them and spirit them away to a presumed unknown location were they would be subjected to a broad array of tactics meant to instill fear and eventually break the person.  Since the person being “stressed” was given no indications what was occurring was actually an exercise and not real life.  Soon they expanded the platform into being as multi-tiered and multi-phased as possible; so as to maximize doubt and confusion.  As the practice migrated further out into public arenas it soon became referred to as “street theatre” and employed a variety of cut-outs and cast-offs from other governmental operations and initiatives, most notably the human detritus of MK Ultra and its subsequent Programs, Titles and Initiatives, along with those individuals who washed out of “Ghost” training within our military.  These days it has become a favorite tool of the Shadow Government in everything they do.

In my case, under the ongoing and ever expanding “Patriot Act” I have been labeled a “Domestic Terrorist”.  By these rogue governmental elements who operate as hand in glove within the Shadow Government.  The application of this label means that other resources may be brought to bear in protection of National Security.  Agents of the Government appropriate or solicit the assistance of the state, county, local and even Citizens in their operations.  Now, in all honesty my checkered past and even my appearance tends to make it all too easy for them to enlist such assistance.  Nonetheless, I am far from a Domestic Terrorist.  For better or worse I support Our Constitutional Government.  Long ago I could have fled America, becoming an ex-patriot.  Somehow, that seemed disingenuous on my part.  I stayed to fight the “good fight” as it were.  Hahaha… currently I am getting my ass kicked.  Eventually they will win, by other means or by my murder.  Till then I will continue to be a thorn in their side, a small thorn for certain but a thorn all the same.
