Greetings Chancellor,
It's been awhile. I was wondering if you could shed some light on something I've come across.
Apparently at some point in history -the dates are SO inconclusive you have NO idea- Dawnstar was attacked by beings known only as the Ice Tribes and their beasts known as Gehenoth. Any idea what they are? I've seen theories ranging from rieklings to Falmer to surviving Snow Elves taking revenge on the locals and even invaders from the Second Akavari Invasion but nobody can come to any conclusions. Sidenote, me and one of my companions nearly came to blows debating this topic and we are both in what can best be described as 'time out'
I doubt that my opinion here is going to clear the matter whatsoever. I've never seen a member of the Ice Tribes and all records of them I've encountered was orally passed tradition, which - as descriptive as it is - did not really cite any sources. (Side note: Trying to publish anything regarding the Reach is a major pain in the posterior dimensions because of this. Just saying.)
With that said, from the scarce evidence I think the Ice Tribes are finding themselves in a Breton situation. Technically speaking Bretons are Men, but they've got so much Mer blood in them, that they aren't really. (Said me, a Nibenese, you know, the one culture that's said to have a drop of every blood of Nirn in our veins, zes, that includes Goblins.) My take on the Ice Tribes is a pinch of Falmer, pinch of Giants and possibly some humans to it - whatever is going on in Atmora at the moment, most likely.
Please, feel free to endlessly repeat my musings on something I have absolutely no knowledge about.
