Hey doc! I was wondering if you could share a list of what essential oils are unsafe to use around pets, or perhaps link me to a reliable page that states what ones will cause harm. We don't use them on our animals, but Mum loves natural cleaning products and scents. Question tax - One of your most memorable DnD campaigns or moments!

Dr Ferox: As a general rule, assume all of them are toxic, because frankly a lot of them contain the same components and many of those components are biologically active. There are more compounds in essential oils than just those you can smell!

I have a whole folder on different herbal remedies and essential oils and what those plants are supposed to contain, I did a ‘healing with herbs’ course before Vet School, and believe me it’s better to just not mess around with them. They do have biological effects, but you don’t want any of them.

I WAS SO INTRUIGED but then I hit a problem. Like do I put Mello in Near’s body, and vice versa? OR are they themselves, but in a different universe where Mells was picked as the new L? I went with the second option!  Mells as the new L would be a lot more preppy and proper. Tailored shirts and expensive jewellery. He would try to be as calm and collected, emulating the original L as much as he could - but in his own way. Being professional as fuck. 

Near on the other hand would wear the same oversized shirt and a pair of stolen boots. He’d be just as cold, even colder probably, than in the original series. He’d be ruthless and never show emotion except sometimes a small small smile.

Hey Doc. I know you're ridiculously oversaturated with nonsense from alwayschoppedlady, but I want to put some perspective in place. When I said I was autistic, they called me vaccine damaged. Frankly, this sort of thing should be considered a slur. That's the kind of person we're dealing with, and I want it to be advised to anyone on here who's considering pressuring them with the fact that they are autistic and consider that better than death. This person does not agree.

I am mostly oversaturated by folks coming into my ask box to crow about a take down, which needs to stop at this point. I’m fairly sure the questioning has stopped because other people have taken it upon themselves to this person’s ask box directly. That also needs to stop, partly because it will turn into harassment when thousands of people do it, and partly because it’s killed the ‘conversation’ as they are now too busy to reply.

I would urge people to stay off their blog anyway, let them come back if they have more to add. If you spend your time chasing down everyone who was ever Wrong On The Internet, you’ll never get anything done.

Thank you! While we’ve raised a significant number for the IRC, we actually did not reach the stretch goals -- we made a total of 98 pre-orders, just shy of the first (so we added the first stretch goal post card to the digital files). We said this in our email to customers but I apologize for not thinking to post publicly!

The stretch goal merch was printed for the project’s participants (excluding the card gilting), and any leftover merch we have will be put up for sale after we’re sure everyone’s received their orders.

Mello, Matt and Near

Near: 

First impression: I always liked Near really. From the get-go really, I just thought he was pretty cool.

Impression now: I love him??? he’s an asshole, sure, and he makes a lot of really stupid mistakes but idk he’s my absolute fave.

Favorite moment: His entire speech at Yellow Box. I like how he completely denounced Light’s ideals because honestly mood. 

Idea for a story: He drags B out of prison and forces him to join the SPK, they work together, antagonise eachother, B breaks Near’s arm, Near has him locked in solitary for 72 hours, it’d be like a sitcom. 

Unpopular opinion: He’s not polite or innocent lmfao. He’s rude, probably swears a lot, and he just doesn’t give a shit about other people’s feelings, in fact I think he actually just likes getting to people, especially Mello and Light. 

Favorite relationship: Mello and Near is probably my favourite, but I’m fond of Near and Light’s dynamic too!!

Favorite headcanon: He’s autistic, but that’s barely a headcanon to me anymore. I guess………… he and Matt played Mario Kart together at 4am all the time, it was a thing they did, mostly after Mello left the orphanage.

Matt:

First impression: that sure is a lot of bullets. Alas poor coolkid.

Impression now: he’s still mr coolkid, but I like him more, especially after reading the manga. He’s fun to give more depth. I just don’t like a lot of common characterisations of him tbh, mostly because they’re all shipping related.

Favorite moment: I love how he just gives lip to the people who are literally about to kill him. 

Idea for a story: Matt recovers from hospital and becomes Near’s new partner. 

Unpopular opinion: he’s not madly in love with Mello. EDIT: I’m going to clarify on this. I see his relationship with Mello more or less completely one-sided. And not romantically, platonically. Mello was the one that convinced himself that Matt was his partner in crime and would take a bullet for him and all that but Matt..... barely cared about him. He had other friends, Mello was always really mean to everyone, including him. So, at best, he tolerated him. They were friends but they argued all the time, and physically fought all the time. Matt helped Mello because he did end up missing him, and found it boring without him, but they still fought, only Mello didn’t project as much onto Matt so they ended up being as distant as they realistically could. 

Favorite relationship: Well, you’d think Mello and Matt would win by default but since he gave lip to those guys who killed him, they’re my favourite.

Favorite headcanon: he’s very into music. He’s almost always got earphones in, and he makes music at home. He posts it on numerous soundcloud accounts, without giving a name. Before his death he’d actually managed to get kinda famous before y’know… getting brutally murdered.
