Nugu GG of the Week #562 : ICIA (part 1)

ICIA was a group that ran from 2015 to 2021. The group originally debuted as 사이다 Sida but only released one song (which doesn't appear to be on streaming) and then towards the end of their career they changed their name again to Chumchurum (처음처럼), however they never released music under that name so this post and tag for them will only be using ICIA. Also as far as I'm aware while Sida was an acronym 🙄 for Sparkle, Immortal, Delight, All, random nonsense, ICIA I believe isn't.

Overall the members were: Arin, Yoori, SunA, Back Jo, Lee Ae, HyeonAh, Nayoon, Hari, Hyogyeong, Vandi, Youmin, Yunmi, A young, Chaerin, Gayoung, Yujin and Sohee.

A lot of girls. But every release the lineup changed to a degree and some girls never properly debuted aka released music before leaving / disbanding.

Youmin and Gayoung are currently in Red Mint (y'all still streaming WA!?), Yoori was in Blah Blah (y'all still streaming Good Job?), Lee Ae and HyeonAh and SunA and Nayoon were all in Black Queen aka HeyGirls (y'all still streaming Good Girl?), Chaerin & Hyogyeong were in LabelUp (y'all still streaming Beautiful Tomorrow?) and lastly Vandi aka nugu soloist Ahn Solhee from Scarlet and Pocket Girls (y'all still streaming Do Better & Oppa is Trash?). Damn these nugus are stacked with legends!

Their official debut track was It's You under the name SIDA but it's not on streaming but I did find the audio and included it in the below. It's a simple EDM synth dance track that has some vague Christian horse girl vibes. Think To The Sky by CLC but more dancey 🤔

The members participating in debut : HyeonAh, Back Jo, SunA, and Lee Ae.

The group rebranded as ICIA with the new single Time Bomb. Do they let their 5$ dollars and a dream MV fool you this song is an iconic nugu bop. The song has its solid club dance sound with catchy hook. To me it's highly unfortunate they weren't higher up in the nugudom popularity like Purfles (y'all still streaming 123?) or Playback (y'all still streaming Want U To Say?) because this song deserves to be at the top of everyone's nugus to get into lists. A solid nugudom bop!
