VIVID’s 2nd mini album “phase 2: FRESH” was a the groups breakout comeback. The mini album was released by Cube Ent on the 25th of June 2018. It was available both physically and digitally. It contained “ LADY” , their title track which they promoted along with "MAZE“. “LADY” was referred to as “the perfect retro summer track”. The contrast between their debut and “LADY” proved how versatile they were and gained them respect and caught the attention of not only Korean fans but also international fans. It assured people that VIVID was not a group to be forgotten. SoDa once again worked on the album Sisi helping out on “TALK TO ME” and Yuri helping produce “HOW WHY”. Each member took part in the writing process and they each wrote their individual verses in “GIRLS LIKE US”. On the 1st of August viVid posted a special ““HOW WHY” MV to end off the era. It was dedicated to BRITES to thank them for an incredible and successful first comeback.

The group displayed their powerful dancing and unique style at the showcase on the 25th. VIVID covered ”CRAZY“ by 4 minute and spoke in length of how they inspired each of them to be idols. A fancam of the performances went viral in Korea and drew many more korean fans to support their comeback. ”LADY“ had a retro and fresh sound with fun dances moves that were still sharp and clean but catchy enough for everyone to dance along to.
