Ideas for later based off of the soulmate prompt list.
-Logan's rough and impulsive but also a romantic who buys into the soulmate talk and is waiting for his. Wei is nice and polite but also a scared man who doesn't buy into the soulmate talk and is certain nothing good will ever come of meeting his.
-Logan doesn't approach Mi-an despite knowing she's his soulmate. She's bright, happy, and so kind. The kind of woman who deserves so much more than a criminal for a soulmate. He can't tell her.
-Pen never planned to find his soulmate, too bad they find him. This is a problem for so many reasons and he does his best to work around it. He does such a good job of it that he's helpless in the end as he watches the one person in the world meant for him easily fall into the arms of Logan.
-Matilda was expecting to find many things when she arrived in Sandrock, but she was not expecting to find her soulmate. Happily married, with a child, and no idea whatsoever that she was meant for Matilda. It was hubris that led Matilda to arrange a little accident, arrogance to make her think she could turn it to her favor, and the orders that come down from her superiors makes it very clear that Matilda will never be able to have anything at all with Trudy.
-When Duvos' best roll the Allied Cities under their might Tiger orders that the people of Sandrock be left to their own devices. Lefu does not understand why they shouldn't round all these mouthy people up and ship them to the ruins to work for their right to live. Not until he demands to meet the substandard cook who can't get his food right and the large man who comes out flips his world around. Owen, on the other hand, can't get a break.
-Soulmates feel pain when separated, and finding ways to stay together while living/working can be difficult. Rocky and Krystal have never had any problems making it work for them.
-Ernest has a best selling series about a monster hunter in the desert based entirely off of the dreams he has of his soulmate. Logan's been haunted by tourists calling him Diego for years.
-Builder can't forgive Miguel in the end. It's a betrayal at so many levels that are fundamental to a relationship, a lack of trust that can't be reconciled even though they're soulmates. They break the mirror by hand and Miguel cannot find fault in that. When it comes time for him to be taken away it is both a comfort and an agony to find they have been consoled by Owen.
-Dan-bi and Rian didn't hesitate when they found eachother. They've been married for years when they come to Sandrock and get blindsided when Burgess proves to also be Dan-bi's soulmate. It's almost dramatic and angsty, but Burgess is perfectly happy being her friend and wants nothing else. Platonic soulmates.
-Logan feels the train coming and knows what the means even before he sets eyes on his soulmate stepping onto the platform. Dread grabs him as they naively step right into the mess that is his life and Logan can't do a single thing to stop it from happening.
-Fang's wrists feel delicate in Logan's hand. The marked skin that matches him to Logan burns as he presses his lips to the skin to complete the bond.
-"We will not meet again." The words inked onto the Builder have always been cold and malicious. Seeing them in the letter from Pen does not change that at all.
-Logan's soulmate has always been a talkative cityslicker, and he usually has the sloping cursive writing on his arms and legs to prove that no matter what time of the day it is. When he finally meets Ernest, he is not surprised to learn the man is a writer.
-Ernest learns early on that he will never have any words written on his skin. It's a little disappointing after Luna shows off her first words, but he's fine with it in the end. It's his job to write to his soulmate after all and he will make sure he does the best job he can. Too bad Haru doesn't learn to read until he's ten and Howlett takes a good long look at the fancy writing on his arms before declaring he should get to a better school.
-Soulmates as muses. Ernest hasn't written so well as he has since arriving at Sandrock.
-Bonds formed when healthy person takes care of ill person alone. Which is why Fang keeps family or X around at all times. Also why villagers descend on Logan's home when Andy gets ill. After, the Builder catches it and asks Logan to help them. Alone.
-Qi goes to Fang with complaints of an irritating rash that just won't go away. Fang, with help from X, has to explain it's not a rash. It's a soulmark.
-Howlett knows it's over when the vivid green of Carmen's touch withers away to an ash grey as she deliberately severs the connection between them.
-Mi-an and Elsie faking a soulmark when Yan won't take a hint only to find a real mark underneath the stain they used at the end.
-It was supposed to be- Well, not a simple job, nothing with Duvos was ever simple. It was supposed to be a standard mission at the very least. Until Grace found herself sporting a very inconvenient soulmark one night after a near miss with a stray cat ends with Owen's bare hand on the small of her back and her own planted on the side of his neck.
-Stev finds his soulmate in Sandrock and his loyalty has never been at it lowest.
-Kiss of life soulmates. If his mother had stuck around, Pa could have been saved. It's the first time Logan has ever felt hatred for the woman he barely remembers.
-Builder/Logan almost dies but is brought back by soulmate's kiss. The kiss has a price though. The Goat and Cornered Beast missions.
-With the flick of his fingers, Pablo can bring out the brightest colors across Amirah's skin. He finds amusement in the patterns and marks he can match with her outfits and is quite proud of the muddy stains that linger on his fingers afterwards.
