I’m a bit clueless who to chat up about this but figured your blog is a good starting place. So usually it’s idemromantic, meaning a person who is quoiromantic (can’t distinguish romantic from e.g. platonic attraction) but the person chooses to call what the feel romantic. Hence idemromantic.

I have been looking and sitting on this for months now but I feel like an island with my want for idemalterous or maybe idemqueerplatonic to be a label.

Let’s spread the word? Maybe some other (oriented) aroaces feel like I do?

Hi there, im happy to help spread the word :) i dont personally relate but im certain there are people out here who do! Personally i have not seen the idea of idemalterous or idemqueerplatonic discussed anywhere else but it makes perfect sense to me. Thank u for sharing and coming to my blog to talk about it, this is a great term!

Im sorry that this has so far been an isolating experience, i know that feeling and hope you know that even if your experience isn't common, that doesnt mean it isnt important or real.

Idem- (This definition is for Idemromantic, but can be used with alterous, sensual, queerplatonic, and sexual (i think)). A subset of gray romanticism (“between aromantic and alloromantic”).

Definition: Categorizes relationships and feelings as platonic or romantic but experiences no notable internal differences. They may categorize certain relationships as romantic instead of platonic based on age, personality compatibility, emotional closeness, ease of living together, presence of sexual attraction, or other factors. But their feelings toward their romantic interests would not be particularly distinguishable from platonic feelings and may be similar to how they feel for a best friend or beloved family member. They may pursue platonic, quasiplatonic, romantic, or no relationships.

Idem can be a modifier (“I’m idem-homoromantic”) or its own thing (“I’m idemromantic”). “Idemro” is the shortened version (as well as “grayro”). ‘Idem’ means ‘the same’ in Latin. ‘Idemro’ is the shortened version. Idemros may also consider themselves aro, grayro, quoiro, cupioro, alloro, etc. Idemros may pursue platonic, quasiplatonic, romantic, or no relationships."
