omg I feel like I need to watch Dawson's Creek now what have you done

okay first i have to admit that i haven’t seen every single scene in every episode but i am confident that i have seen basically every scene with pacey in it.

i straight up don’t give a shit about dawson. he’s kinda cute occasionally and he has some nice lines but when i watched the show i was so immediately Not Here For Dawson. (also, i watched the show out of order. this probably impacted my affection for pacey).

i may be dramatic when i say that pacey is like my favorite boyfriend, and it may be because i did not finish watching the show until yesterday but...there are just some INTENSELY romantic things that he does and says. he’s rough around the edges and impulsive. he doesn’t think he’s good enough for her at times. he’s so not the person that anyone, including joey herself, thinks will be a good fit for joey. but he’s so good for her because he treats her like a person, like her OWN person (dawson, take a note pls), and he challenges her along the way to become stronger. and he and joey have some very nice speeches that they say to each other throughout the span of the show.

but i will warn you that this show is like a fixed love triangle. it’s like one of the most intense love triangles because THEY WILL NOT LET IT GO. so sometimes things feel circular. and sometimes the teens talk like they are way older than they are (talking abstractly about existential crises and hormone glitches), but tbh after awhile i got used to it and it’s sort of nice listening to teens with expansive vocabularies. 

my first impression of dawson’s creek was that it was a dumb show. so i went in with low expectations but now i’m thinking about how soon i can order the box set of the show BECAUSE I HAVE A PROBLEM. the show’s probably not for everyone, but if you’re into couples and shipping, i’d say it might be totally worth your while to give DC a try.

Yo your website is lookin hella! I'm lovin the Humans of Peru thing. Perusing it is bringing back such great memories of my hometown.
