Sexuality Headcanon: I’m going to say he’s pretty fluid. Or at the very least doesn’t really think about it. Most of the time he’s busy focusing on his latest invention to consider anything elseGender Headcanon: identifies as maleA ship I have with said character: I like both Castafiore/Calculus and Haddock/Calculus! I honestly would have loved to see more of his crush on Bianca, as well as just seeing the two of them hang out while she stayed at Marlinespike. As for him and Haddock... I’ll let this speak for itself.
A BROTP I have with said character: He loves Tintin so much. I imagine he’s so protective of him, and probably will talk about him to anybody that willingly listens. (And probably some who don’t.) Also wanted to see more of his friendship with Hercules. (Or Hercules in general, what a teddy bear!)A NOTP I have with said character: none that I know of.A random headcanon: Okay not a headcanon, but a genuine question... so in ‘Red Sea Sharks’ we see him with rollerskates... Was the implication that Abdullah put them there as a joke? I assumed that was it, but the fact Calculus just rolls with it honestly makes me question it. I mean, the guy is kinda out there that I could genuinely believe he had been tinkering with the idea the whole time. But I assumed he was inspired by the prank and that made him want to play with new ideas for transportation. I’m mostly asking because the way the comic has it, that wasn’t exactly clear to me. Does it ultimately matter in the end? .... Probably not.General Opinion over said character: He’s hilarious! I will admit I kinda wish they allowed him to keep using his hearing aids-- since I think he’s a strong enough character that you can allow him to be quirky even outside of him mishearing things. BUT, that all said, as somebody that also hears the wrong thing a lot, I find him really relatable in that regard. Just ask my wife, there has been many times where I’ll pause and say ‘...just to clarify, you said THIS, right?’ (Though the things I usually misinterpret it as is way funnier than what i assume she says haha.)
