Sometimes I wonder how the devs formed the intricacies of Sylus' character to specifically cater to the emotional/psychological needs of a (mostly) women-centered perspective. Respect for the MC serves as the foundation for each of the guys, but they all differ in how they express their natures to MC and in how they adapt and grow from their mutual interactions.
Sylus is more than just a twist on a Byronic hero trope or its iterations that appear in the "romantasy" genre, and one of the things I valued about him is his encouraging and loving nature--letting MC (and by extension the player) feel liberated to feel and feel liberated to try new things without fear of ridicule or censure.
Sadly, I feel like in real life, even trying to meet someone half way and hope for reciprocated goodwill and respect seems like a dream...
Harry looking so much like James that Sirius demands Lily take a Maternity Test, because Sirius was never given proper sex-ed and spends so much time with James he’s genuinely worried the baby might actually be his and James’.
i want to emphasize that i would never disrespect someone for speaking their truth/coming forward about difficulties they’ve faced, or calling someone out for abusive or inappropriate behavior. but there’s this certain strain/element to the poetry “community” on twitter that’s very cloyingly sweet and fake seeming? and then, conversely, practically gleeful in the misfortune of any one not “in” their crowd. it really weirds me out bc i don’t know if i’m just paranoid and letting dumb mannerisms turn me off to people, but it really bothers me seeing all this language centered on “uplift” and “community” and then people talking shit about each other or throwing shade in the next tweet down. And I just wrote my personal statements for grad school focusing on how important building a community with other writers is to me, so it’s not that i think that’s unimportant. It’s hugely important and i don’t like it just being co-opted as a buzzword. and i think a lot of people have sincere intentions but get caught up in the clique-ishness of wanting to be known by, read by, blurbed by certain people. Which I get! I have poetry idols too. Idk what exactly I’m trying to articulate. Just a sense I get from some groups within “poetry twitter” (lol) that they are either obsessed with their own exclusivity or too busy talking about how inclusive they are to actually be inclusive.
who would be interested if i started a permanent tag list for any/all fics i write?
i can also have specific tag lists pertaining to certain characters if you’d want that instead?
please let me know friends!!
Maybe it's also the ick making me delusional, but I kind of want to muse Kusa and Maki, too.
