BOYNEXTDOOR when they accidentally reveal their secret relationship with you
Pairing: Idol!boynextdoor x gn!idol!reader
Genre: fluff, soft, total chaos, established relationship
Warnings: bnd being a bunch of idiots that love their partner, mild language, fans being FBI-level detectives
Myung Jaehyun:
He was livestreaming when it happened — just casually reading some comments when, out of nowhere, you walked into his hotel room. He looked at you with the biggest smile... like he completely forgot he was live.
"Hey, baby" he said, stretching out his arm to pull you in.
It wasn’t until he noticed you standing frozen, eyes wide in panic, that he realized what he’d just done.
The next day, even though the livestream was deleted, Twitter was flooded with the video. People even dug up old clips, adding captions like, “How were we so blind?”
Park Sungho:
It happened during an interview. He was distracted, missing you more than usual, and when the interviewer jokingly asked, “Is there anyone special waiting for you guys tonight?” — he didn’t even think.
“Yeah, I miss my baby, Y/N...”
The moment it left his mouth, his face went pale.
The members immediately tried to cover it up by being loud, laughing it off — but his expression said it all. He knew he messed up.
Riwoo:
It was just supposed to be a collab stage. In fact, it technically wasn’t even his fault. The staff just hadn’t noticed the kiss you two shared in the background while Woonhak was being interviewed.
Surprisingly, fans didn’t take it the wrong way — they actually loved your relationship.
Taesan:
Okay, this one was totally his fault.
He was so excited to see you at the M Countdown show that he couldn’t hold it in.
“You were amazing the other day, baby. I’m so proud of you.”
He was so sweet... if only that clip hadn’t been playing on the big screen. And if only fans hadn’t been able to clearly read his lips.
Leehan:
He didn’t mean to reveal anything either. He was just so excited to be on your solo YouTube show that he couldn’t stop smiling, laughing, and giving you those heart eyes.
How was he supposed to know fans would be that obsessed — enough to dig up old pictures of the matching couple collars from that beach trip a year ago? The same collar he casually wore in a backstage vlog?
“At least we don’t have to hide it anymore?”
He always tried to see the bright side.
Woonhak:
Who would've thought a livestream could go that chaotic.
It was his birthday, and he was doing a solo live when he got a call. He picked up quickly, meaning to tell them he was live — but didn’t realize the phone was on speaker.
The way his face dropped when your voice came through:
“Hey baby, how’s my birthday boy?”
Pure. Chaos.
He panicked, accidentally hung up on you, and tried way too hard to explain himself to fans before abruptly ending the stream.
It didn’t even matter — everyone recognized your voice. Some even figured out you’d met during his MC days.

"Move back!" Changbin's gravelly voice bellowed out as he tried to push through the gaps, attempting to make a clear path through the large crowd that had formed around you.
It was the largest crowd you'd been mobbed by at the airport in a long time. Faces of desperation to get a glimpse of you barely visible through the flashing of cameras that reflected off every surface, giving you no where to hide. Your breath was constricted, matching the space around you and you suddenly felt claustrophobic.
You didn't even know how word had gotten out that you would be departing today. Only your management team- who were doing their best to work as bodyguards behind you - your personal bodyguard Changbin and the music video director you were travelling to meet up with knew of your travel plans today.
Suddenly out of the corner of your eye, you saw someone in the crowd rush forward - past your manager's attempts to keep them at bay - reaching out for your arm aggressively.
You froze in place. You'd never been put in a situation such as this before and all you could do was flinch, thinking of the worst case scenario about to unfold.
Your thoughts were put to rest as your vision of the crazed fan was blocked off by Changbin's broad, muscular back.
"I said. GET BACK!" He shouted angrily, once again pushing the limitations of his job description as he shoved them away from you.
Without thinking, you clutched onto his bicep, something you often did during situations like this one. You knew there would be tabloids as a result, claiming to know the status of your relationship with Changbin, but right now as the crowd only grew closer you didn't care. Being able to physically feel Changbin and the warmth he provided was soothing to you and the tabloids would never understand the complexities of your private life.
Changbin was getting worked up, his professionalism slipping away the longer he looked at your panicked face and seeing a fan try and invade your personal space was the last straw.
But as Changbin felt your touch on him, his priorities re-aligned and he hastily grabbed your hand, attaching it to the back of his black t-shirt.
"You're okay, just hold on and keep up." He reassured you, returning to lead the way through the crowd.
Your fear didn't leave you as you gripped onto Changbin's t-shirt tightly, trying your hardest to keep up with his steps as he hurriedly tried to get you to safety.
The crowd all of a sudden shifted, giving you and your company more space to move through them and you realized airport security had finally arrived. The new security clumsily made there way through the crowd, keeping them at a distance to avoid any further incidents, but you were already tainted with fear and it was clinging onto you as tightly as your hold on Changbin's shirt.
The rest of the walk went by in a flurry, your mind checking out and only focusing on the goal of getting out of the crowd as quickly and safely as you could.
So caught up in the madness you didn't realize you'd made it to the terminal until Changbin abruptly stopped in front of you, turning in a flash causing your hold on his shirt to break off.
His large hands cupped your cheeks gently as his eyes scanned over you, before moving to look over the rest of your body for any physical injuries.
"Are you hurt?" His voice was filled with concern as he ignored your manager's urges to keep moving. His eyes had softened from earlier, all traces of anger gone, but you knew him well enough to know that if there was even a scratch on you, his anger would return.
You let out a breath you hadn't realized you were holding, and placed your hands over his on your cheeks.
"I'm okay, let's just get out of here." You pleaded with him, giving him a not so reassuring small smile of appreciation.
He gave you a nod and withdrew from you, giving a glare to your managing team before turning to lead the way once again.
You all boarded onto the private jet and you took your usual seat by the window. Changbin had taken a step out of the jet to make a phone call, but once he returned he took his place next to you like always.
It was silent for a moment, Changbin and you both adjusting to the quiet atmosphere compared to the mayhem of the airport. You reached down to your bag between your feet, beginning your usual pre-take off routine. You took out your Mentos chews, taking one for yourself and popping it into your mouth and held another out in your hand for Changbin to take.
Changbin took the Mentos from your hand, but before you could pull your hand away from him he slid his hand into yours. Your eyes widened, craning your neck over the seats to see if any of your team had seen the gesture but Changbin was un-phased, not caring if the two of you were caught acting out of the terms of your agreements.
You instinctively went to pull your hand away - much to your heart's discontent - but Changbin only held your hand tighter, resting it on the chair's armrest that separated your two seats.
"Relax, they're all too busy in their own worlds." Changbin whispered to you, getting himself more comfortable in his seats.
As you surveyed the interior of the plane, you had to agree with him. It was a long flight ahead of you, most of your management team was either getting ready to have a nap or had their noses buried in their laptops and your other staff were simply keeping to themselves or speaking quietly amongst themselves.
"Bin.. that's not the point." You whispered back eyes still flickering around the plane in paranoia.
"Hey.." Changbin called to you, bringing your eyes back to his as he leaned in closer to you "It's nothing they haven't seen before. I'm just doing my job and protecting you during our flight." Changbin cheekily smiled giving your hand a squeeze of comfort.
Again Changbin wasn't wrong. Your relationship with Changbin was kept mostly behind closed doors in an attempt to not stir rumors that could affect both of your careers, but around your managing team, make-up artists and other professionals in the industry you felt more comfortable, but it didn't ease your constant worry of someone taking a picture or video and selling it to the media.
It had all happened out of no where. Changbin was hired as a personal bodyguard when you began travelling more due to your music hitting a more global scale. You spent so much time with him by your side, you had similar interests, he saw you at your most vulnerable moments and it was only a matter of time before you found comfort in each others arms.
From there you had only fallen into each other more.
None of your team explicitly knew you were dating, but you were sure they had their suspicions. To protect Changbin in the only way you could, you had suggested to keep things private and out of the public eye, to keep your work relationship strictly professional unless in private.
You could see in his eyes past his playful remarks, that he was still concerned over you from the chaos you had just gotten away from and you let out a frustrated filled sigh.
"I'm just worried, more for you than myself. I trust my team...but you never know Bin." You said sadly, leaning your head back onto the head rest and closing your eyes.
Changbin took your intertwined hands into his lap, and let out a tired sigh, rolling his shoulders back attempting to stretch his neck out.
"I've told you before baby, I know what I got myself into and I won't ever regret it." Most of the people around you had now plugged their headphones in, but regardless he spoke softly enough for you to hear only and you felt your nerves begin to subside at the use of the pet name he often used in private moments.
But as soon as one emotion left another replaced it. You hated this, you hated having to hide your relationship with Changbin. You wanted to be able to hold his hand as you walked down the street. You wanted to kiss him whenever your heart desired. You wanted to be able to love him freely and you knew as long as you stayed in this career, under this contract, you were trapped.
"I hate this." You groaned out, "I hate not being able to be with you in the way I want to be."
"I know." Changbin's voice faltered, his usual strong sounding tone cracking as he empathized with your feelings.
You felt guilty as you realized Changbin's mood change and you squeezed his hand back, tucking your fingers deeper into the grooves of his hand.
"Thank you for earlier, I really don't know what I would do without you." You changed the topic titling your head to give him a warm smile.
But Changbin could tell the issue was still plaguing your mind, that you were only changing the topic to not dwell on something that was out of your control.
He returned your warm smile with one of his own, bending down in his seat to pretend to pick something up from the floor so he could press a gentle kiss to your hand still interlocked with his.
He rose back up to see a brighter smile on your lips. Still smiling Changbin leaned in closer to you, resting his head on his own head rest again, making it look to anyone else that he was trying to get comfortable enough to sleep.
"We have the rest of our lives to be with each other, baby. And until the time comes where we can be open with the world about us, we have moments like this." Changbin whispered tenderly, his eyes swimming in the love that pooled there. "As long as I can be here, by your side, protecting you and looking out for you. This is enough."
You were conflicted. His words and actions through your relationship was evident enough of the love and devotion he held for you, and by god did you love him, but he deserved to be loved in the spotlight just as much as he was behind the scenes.
"I'm going to talk to my lawyers when we return home." You blurted out, hope filling the gaps uncertainty had drilled into you as your words resonated with not only you but Changbin too. His eyes lighting up at the possibility you could be free of the binding contract that kept you apart.
"Surely there is an ethics law out there that prohibits this, or a loophole?" You added, giving him a soft nudge with your shoulder, taking any small contact you could in your predicament.
Changbin chuckled, nodding in agreeance to your plan.
"We will figure it out, but for now..." He trailed off as he reached across you with his spare hand, retrieving a soft blue blanket from the shelving in front of your seat, "You need to get some sleep, you have a packed schedule as soon as we land."
You let him tuck you in, even going as far to recline your seat for you and you tried your best to get comfortable enough to rest, shaking off the flashing of cameras that could still be seen with eyelids closed.
"Make sure you get some rest too. If the airport is anything like it was before, you'll need it." You gave him a small smile, feeling the guilt build up in you again regardless of the fact it was his job.
"You don't need to worry, I called ahead and there is a team of security who will be waiting for us when we land." He reassured you again, always one step ahead of you, and he reclined his own seat to match the positioning of yours.
You felt your eyes grow heavy at the reassurance of more security and pulled his hand still tangled with yours under your blanket, bringing it to your heart.
"I love you." You uttered, finally feeling the pressures of fame slip away from you the higher in the air you got.

“We’re screwed,” you groaned, flopping down on your bed
“What do you mean?” Vernon spun around his chair
“There’s a dating scandal,” you pulled up the article on your phone, handing it to Vernon, “Dispatch saw us the other night when we went out.”
“So? These all look very friendly but not romantic. We should be fine.”
Your heart sank a little. Yes, you didn’t want your relationship with Vernon to be outed like this but his dismissal of the photos made you a little sad. Did he actually want to keep your relationship a secret? Was he embarrassed to be dating you? Would he ever-
“Hey,” Vernon’s voice pulled you from your thoughts, “You okay?”
You just nodded, a fake smile appearing on your lips. Vernon’s eyes narrowed at you for a second before giving you a small nod. He turned back to his computer and went back to working on a new song. You let your face fall once you knew he wasn’t paying attention to you anymore. You brought your phone up to your face, staring at the pictures of you and Vernon out on a date. He was right. You didn’t look like you were dating. You looked like you were just friends.
You didn’t bother Vernon for the next few days. You had a pretty busy schedule, some tv appearances and interviews as well as some music show recordings, and you assumed he did as well since he didn’t contact you as much as he normally did. You weren’t sure if it was just you but you felt like you were growing apart- like you really were just friends. Finally after almost a week and a half of barely speaking, Vernon asked you out to dinner. You were hesitant to accept but did. Dressed in your usual comfortable clothes, you met Vernon outside the restaurant.
“Hey,” you tried to muster up a convincing smile but faltered
“Hey babe,” that pet name coming from his lips felt a bit bittersweet now, “Haven’t seen you in a while.”
“Yeah it’s been a while,” you nodded, almost apologetic, “I’ve been busy with my schedule.”
“Yeah, me too.”
There was an awkward tension between the two of you and you hated it. You could already feel what was coming...a break up. You felt tears prick at the corners of your eyes but you blinked them away.
“Should we go in an eat?” you croaked out
“Can I kiss you?”
“Vernon, what-” you sighed, “We’re in public, you know.”
“Yes I know,” he smiled apologetically, “But I want everyone to know you’re mine.”
He took your hands in his and pulled you closer to him, your lips inches apart. You could feel a blush creeping up from your neck. Vernon was never this forward. He was definitely taking you by surprise. You tried to stutter something out but your mind failed you.
“You know I care about you, right?” he whispered
“More than a friend?” you asked quietly
“Yes, more than a friend,” he chuckled, “I wouldn’t risk being caught by Dispatch for a friend.”
You laughed, mostly at your own stupidity. You knew Vernon cared for you, you really had nothing to worry about. You relaxed in Vernon’s touch and let out a soft sigh.
“What’s wrong?” he asked
“Nothing,I was just being stupid.”
You smiled at him- a genuine smile this time. He returned the smile before closing the gap, his lips softly pressing into yours. You melted at the feeling; his lips kissing yours was definitely a feeling you missed. You pulled away after a moment. Your eyes opened and saw him staring at you. After a second, he began to laugh.
“If Dispatch got a picture of that, Pledis will have our heads.”
I just love how this story is going. From the OC’s sad back story and how it's some what related to the boys’ dreams of becoming idols. I’m interested to see how it's going to end~
