Stay positive, maybe Bard is just gonna be the cause a bunch of people die! I mean, the Sanatorium probably has a kitchen, and if they allow some kinda recreational cooking.... yeeeeaaahhhh... if the cooking itself doesn't kill anyone, the food certainly will.

Besides, now that we have ch174 (your ask arrived in my inbox before the chapter dropped), it definitely looks like it won’t be a matter of killing people with food or food preparation... unless that’s how Bard and Lau choose to stage a fire, which is what Lau seems to be pushing for Bard to do. Since Bard has likely been stripped of whatever weapons he came with — but he still has matches — stuff he can find in the kitchen would be quite useful. I mean... that’s how he blew Beast and what was left of Dagger to smithereens. Just fine flour and a match. Later he made IEDs out of emptied tin cans. The kitchen has the best supplies for him, if he’s cooking up explosives.

There’s also probably a large supply of oil for those lanterns the nurses use at night....
