If Sabito, Makomo and Kanae live AU
Idea I had for a very long time now that I need to get it out of my system because I'll definitively never finish to write that fic. This is my own take on “what if Sabito, Makomo and Kanae had survived” AU uwu
About Makomo
She’s the first of the fox children to survive the Final Selection since a long time, so Urokodaki is very relieved and happy when she comes back. Thanks to her speed and agility, she managed to escape the Hand Demon, though unknowingly because she didn’t encounter him during her Selection in this AU.
She’s the current Water Pillar. She generally doesn’t participate during Pillar meetings and only listens attentively, even if it doesn’t seem so.
She keeps contact with Urokodaki, but she’s not one to write a lot, so she usually plops at his place unannounced whenever she feels like it. Urokodaki doesn’t mind at all (he has become way less strict with her since she became a Pillar, and now tends to spoil her a lot, just like a granddaughter).
Always manages to push all her paperwork onto Sabito.
When not doing missions, she likes taking naps in her estate, daydreaming while watching the sky and making flower crowns. If she feels like it, she will also train with Sabito and Giyuu, although that’s very rare. She’s a very good instructor though.
She really gets along with Muichirou, although he doesn’t seem to notice. She generally goes along with him when he’s watching clouds.
She gets along well with Kanae (she’s very gentle, so it’s easy to talk with her), Himejima (his wisdom reminds her of Urokodaki), and Sanemi (he knows her worth in battle and respects that a lot).
She usually ignores Uzui and Rengoku because they’re too loud. She finds tiring talking with Mitsuri because of her excitement, so at some point she’ll leave the rest of the conversation to either Sabito or Giyuu, though she does think Mitsuri is a nice person.
Obanai doesn’t like her, so she’ll either ignore him or annoy him.
She’s usually very quiet, but when she’s angry she can be terrifying. Sabito and Giyuu are very scared of her whenever she gets angry.
She’s not worried at all by Giyuu’s dumbness, on the contrary, she finds it quite funny.
She likes to spoil her juniors, though she can also be strict. The only one who gets endlessly spoiled is Nezuko.
About Sabito
This time, he survives his Final Selection. He did encounter the Hand Demon, but realised he was too strong to beat him and so he decided to escape with Giyuu, managing to survive.
He’s Makomo’s Tsuguko and rank Kinoe (Highest rank before Pillar). Since she’s his superior and older sister disciple, he respects her a lot. He still gets annoyed at her antics, and he can disagree with her and voice his opinions when he deems it necessary. She’ll either take his opinion into consideration (when it comes to hunting demons) or she’ll ignore him altogether (when it comes to her habits outside battle/mission).
He keeps contact with Urokodaki and writes to him a lot. He’ll usually tell him about Makomo and Giyuu since they don’t write as much as him. If he accompanies Makomo to visit Urokodaki, he’ll send him a letter in advance. He rarely visits because he’s busy with missions (and taking care of Makomo’s paperwork).
Sometimes Giyuu is so naive and dumb that Sabito just wants to punch him (and he does).
Even though he is Makomo’s Tsuguko, he’s actually considering giving his place to Giyuu, as he thinks he’s more talented since he created the 11th movement. Giyuu doesn’t want to hear about it and although Makomo doesn’t really care either way, she does agree with Sabito.
He respects all the Pillars, even if they can be annoying (he’ll only complain to Makomo and Giyuu because he doesn’t want to give a bad example to younger slayers).
Surprisingly, he really gets along with Sanemi. They enjoy a good sparring session from time to time (Sanemi still thinks Giyuu is annoying, but at least he tolerates his presence better). He also gets along with Rengoku, even though he thinks it can be difficult at times to hold a proper conversation with him.
He respects a lot Kanae (more so because she might possibly become his sister-in-law), Himejima (since he’s the strongest Pillar and the one who served as one the longest) and Muichirou (despite his personality, it’s good to have him as an ally during battle).
He can bear with Uzui as long as he gets the job done. Otherwise, he finds him a bit excessive.
He learnt to have conversations with Mitsuri with the minimum of awkwardness thanks to Makomo.
Doesn’t like Obanai at all, so he’s inwardly very satisfied when Makomo shuts him up and makes the Pillar lose his cool.
When not in mission, he usually trains a lot, either alone or with Giyuu (or anybody else available).
Zenitsu and Inosuke will usually try to avoid him because he’ll try to discipline them.
About Kanae
She survives her battle against Douma, but she spends months in convalescence. She’s still the Flower Pillar, but now she rarely takes missions and she mostly stays at the Butterfly Estate as head doctor. Shinobu is still her Tsuguko.
She’s expected to retire soon since her battle against Douma debilitated her a lot, but she doesn’t want to do it yet because she doesn’t want Shinobu to bear all the burden of being a Pillar, even though she’s already taking care of most of her responsibilities.
She gets along with all her fellow Pillars, even the most difficult ones.
She also gets along with Sabito and Giyuu. She addresses both of them as “-kun”, and addresses Makomo as “-san”.
She really gets along with Sanemi.
Once she learns Tanjirou’s objective and motivations, she doesn’t doubt to step in to defend him and Nezuko during the trial. She’s convinced he can carry her wish to fulfilment, and she’s later proven right.
After making sure Nezuko is not dangerous, she becomes very attached to her and spends a lot of time with her whenever the siblings are recovering in the Butterfly Estate. Nezuko sees her like a mother figure and likes her very much.
She thinks Giyuu and Shinobu are a very good match. She doesn’t seem worried by Giyuu’s dumbness.
Like her sister, she’s very knowledgable in the field of making medicine and she’s the one who teaches the younger helpers, though Shinobu’s poison expertise is still more advanced than hers.
When Oyakata-sama proposed to the sisters to collaborate with Tamayo to bring down Muzan, Kanae literally jumped on the opportunity, partly because she could befriend another demon sharing their same goal and partly because it could also mean the end of their war against demons. She really appreciates Tamayo, and also wants to get along with Yushirou. He only bears with her because she’s nice towards Tamayo.
She doesn’t participate in the Infinity Fortress battle, and stays behind protecting the new young master. She’s extremely relieved when the crow announces that Shinobu, Kanao and Inosuke managed to beat Douma, and that the three of them survived.
About GiyuShino!
In this AU, their both rank Kinoe. They’re usually sent on missions together because they work very well as a team. They trust a lot on each other.
Since they didn’t experience the trauma of losing their best friend/sibling in tragic circumstances, they retain their previous personalities. Shinobu has learned to control her anger, but she’ll still explode if provoked. Giyuu is just as awkward as always, but at least he’s not depressed. Neither of them are driven by suicidal intentions.
Giyuu has the strange ability to make Shinobu mad no matter what, although they actually care about each other. They enjoy each other’s presence and like spending time together, even outside of missions. They have feelings for each other, but they’re both blind to it, and when asked, they always deny it.
Btw, Kanae and Sabito want them to confess already. Kanao is convinced they’ll marry, while Aoi is just waiting for the formal announcements. Makomo just watches from behind, very amused.
They met for the first time when both Giyuu and Sabito got badly injured after a mission and where sent to the Butterfly Estate for recovery. Giyuu’s injuries were more serious than Sabito’s, so he spent more time there and he had to bear longer short-tempered Shinobu fussing around him. Sabito still teases Giyuu whenever he gets scolded by Shinobu about how an airhead he is for getting such injuries.
It’s still them who are sent to Natagumo mountain, and it’s still Giyuu who protects the Kamado siblings from Shinobu. Except this time, Shinobu explodes. She genuinely tries to harm Giyuu and says very hurtful things to him, as she doesn’t understand why he would protect a demon and is very mad about it. She feels betrayed and starts thinking he may not trust her as much as she believed before. Only the crow with Oyakata-sama’s order stops her from poisoning him to the other world. Even after everything is explained during the trial and Nezuko is accepted into the Corps, their relationship remains damaged for quite some time. Thankfully, Tanjirou steps in in time (though not totally aware), and helps them to explain things and make amends.
They train together during the Pillar training, and (also with Tanjirou’s help) they slowly realise their feelings for each other, though with the final battle coming soon, they’re not sure about confessing just yet. In the end, they don’t confess: instead, they make a promise that they will both survive Muzan’s defeat. Shinobu half-threatens him with going to fetch him back directly from the afterlife if he ever dares to die, to which Giyuu smiles genuinely.
They don’t see each other until the final stage of the battle, and they’re very relieved to see each other alive.
They later recover at the Butterfly estate, though it’s clear to everybody that they’re spending even more time together and at this point they don’t even try to deny it anymore. They eventually confess at some point. Kanae and Sabito, who had been waiting this FOR YEARS, suddenly appear cheering loudly (they were eavesdropping of course) and by lunchtime, everybody knows about it. Giyuu and Shinobu blushed so hardly it lasted for the rest of the day.
More notes!
In this AU, it’s still Giyuu who saves the Kamado siblings, but this time, he immediately tells Sabito and Makomo what he did. Sabito is ready to beat the crap out of him (he’s angry, but also very worried about him), but Makomo decides to wait and see. During Tanjirou’s trial, Makomo too vows that she and Sabito will also commit suicide if Nezuko ever eats a human.
Obanai can’t stand ANY of the Water Squad. Sabito and Giyuu usually say nothing since he’s a Pillar, but Makomo will take the chance to annoy him, especially if he insults her sibling disciples. (idk, I find it very funny to imagine her as someone utterly irreverent towards the people she might not like xD).
The fox siblings like to spoil the Kamado siblings a lot and in their own ways, and by extension, the Kamaboko squad too.
The Water Estate usually houses 3 people, sometimes Tanjirou and Nezuko too (and sometimes Zenitsu and Inosuke crash in too).
Sometimes Makomo will force her brother disciples to wear her flower crowns. Giyuu doesn’t mind at all, while Sabito doesn’t want anyone besides Makomo and Giyuu (and later Tanjirou and Nezuko too) to see him with a flower crown. It’s Nezuko’s favourite activity with them.
Also, they all survive the Infinity Fortress battle! :D Giyuu still loses an arm and it takes many drips to save Shinobu from dying from blood loss, but at least they got the opportunity to live together :)
And I think I’m leaving it here. If I have more ideas in the future, I’ll add them. But this notes are so extensive already, I’m kind of afraid to imagine how long that fic would have been xD
infinity train/my ocs lol
jeong: 212. problem: gives up to despair too quickly. actually pretty good about like self reflection, has common sense. off the train in a week. companion is def a talking staff of some sort. (runs into the baby apex maybe?)
kiba: 459. problem: crippling shyness maybe, or low self worth. resistant at first, but willing to go along with it after realizing he can’t escape. not giving him a companion seems weirdly mean in this au, so he gets a foghorn type thing that draws attention to both of them constantly.
hana: 43670. problem: gotta relearn how to be a person, that like, feels shit lol. takes years to get off the train, but manages in the end. companion: a creature in her shadow she can’t harm or get away from.
yrz: 1000. problem: unwilling to open up to anyone. honestly he has a lower number than hana but he’d definitely take way longer to get off the train. he’s probably not trying very hard because the train is a fascinating place. he might just stay forever by choice! companion: swarm of incredibly fragile bubble creatures.
masa: puts the infinity in infinity train. problems: so many. he’s never getting off, but that’s because he literally can’t. was amused by this until he realized that ue hadn’t followed him to the train -- then he just got pissed off. he does so much damage to the train that one-one is forced to send him back lol. companion: not ue, so masa kills them immediately.

“Everything is fine! Just… go down the hall, my assistant will be waiting for you!”
IM HERE TO COMPLEMENT UR ART! I REALLY LIKE THE TURTLE DRAWINGS!
AND I REALLY LIKE HOW U DRAW EYES! IM GONNA DRAW EYES LIKE HOW YOU DO NOW
All the turtles are very flattered-
(but I drew mikey because.... I am bias.) Also thank you so much! I would love to see your art if you ever attempt my eye style! (or in general, honestly) but either way I am honored you like mine enough to say that- I have always thought my art style was a bit generic or boring, though lately I have been thinking its probably just like how americans never notice their accent because they hear it all the time. I think my artstyle is non-existent / boring because I see it all the time!
ANYWAYS, ramble over but thank you so much!! <3 <3
