This one's for the "If only he were honest with her..." crowd, claiming it's all Aleksander's fault she ran away from him. She treats Nikolai in similar way- and he "only" kept his true identity secret, when helping her escape from the Darkling- the man, who knew him, and wouldn't let him anywhere near the Sun Summoner.
One of Alina's patterns seems to be dehumanizing people, who "sin" against morals instilled in her . Be it the Darkling with probably every aspect of his existence, Nikolai thanks to concealing his identity or herself with "greed" for the amplifiers. Once you're tainted, you no longer deserve her trust, every action is suspicious and deceitful. As a side effect the person concern loses human traits like feelings and emotions.

Flynn tilted his head, he noticed the two marks on the neck, shrugging his shoulders as he walked towards the observation room where Emil and his dad were. He had to admit he was nervous, and he felt kinda bad for being away so long. Peeking inside the observation room he sees Emil, which makes him feel even worse, then he looks at his dad.
Flynn: Hey dad.. Brooke is awake now..-his eyes fall on Emil.- How are they?
River looked at his son, smiling a little. He walked to the boy and ruffled his hair. Noting how tired he looked. He knew Flynn had not budged from Brooke's side since the accident, having to be forcibly removed to eat or do his basic hygiene.
River: How is she?
And then he looked at the dragon. They had chained the dragon by the foot to the bed it was, and River was rather relieved Flynn hadn't noticed yet. More a precaution than anything else. He didn't want a repeat of last time.
River: Healing remarkably well. Still out though -he sighed- It only got conscious once and it called for you... Flynn: Brooke is fine, I mean.. as fine as she can be I guess, with what has just happened to everyone. Chris and Hayle are watching over her, making sure she is okay and such. - he smiles and hugs his dad tightly.- She'll be fine, eventually, she just needs some time.

River: No. Haven't watched it. I'm not much of a fan of Christmas movies...
Truth was, after Rylan's death, he stopped enjoying or watching Christmas movies. He still went with Flynn to watch Rise of the Guardians 1 and 2 and the little prince, but from what he could remember, those were it.
River: But if you want to watch it, I'll watch it with you.
He watched Lucas carefully, he wanted to make sure he wouldn't fall asleep. The doctor had said he had to make sure Lucas wouldn't pass out or throw up.
Lucas: Nah.. I'll find something else. I am not making you watch me, and then having you watch a type of movie you’re not a fan of...
He opened the library of his streaming service, not wanting to push a Christmas movie on someone that was staying for him and didn't like that type of movie. It was a little sad though, as he himself loved everything about Christmas.
Lucas: How about Battleship? It's not like the best of movies, but it's entertaining.. seeing something I haven't seen before seems like a bad option.
His head was still quite painful, and he had suddenly wondered if he was allowed to take painkillers, only to push the thought away again, as it probably would not stay down right now anyway. His eyes rested on River, he was still thankful he had said yes to stay. His phone made a small noise, telling him his order was now in the making and would be with them in around half an hour.
Lucas: I'm really sorry about all this... I'm sure you'd rather be home. Oh.. and ehm.. where did Lobo go?
River noticed how Lucas was uncomfortable. Again he activated his calming spell as it did dull out most of the superficial pain. He hoped it would help Lucas.
River: I'm the one who should be sorry, not you. I caused this... I'm sorry... Just... I guess it's been too long a time burying this in a shallow grave and hoping no one notices. Now the storm has arrived and it reared its ugly head...
He sighed looking at the movie posters. Of course, there was Armageddon. Of course.
River: Lobos at the shelter, I can call him over if you want. The perks of a familiar is that I can teleport him anywhere I want.
