pondering instead of sleeping yay

#Sometimes this happens an Idea for one of those 30k single chapter fics with weird ass premise pops into my head and I can’t sleep #What if Gotham was sentient and always had a person who lived in Gotham to see the world through #Like an avatar just subtler. Nothing flashy no vigilante no action hero just. A doctor or a coffee shop owner or a street cleaner #And these people knew what they were but also knew Gotham was wayyyyy too cursed to ever do more than watch through their eyes #There are like eight million curses on Gotham what if they were literally like On Gotham #And then with the advent of the justice league and Batman and so much vigilante activity curses start lifting #It’s slow at first #Like a small cult gets busted or a random sigil gets destroyed bc Batman asked Constantine to do a scan #And one day the straw comes off the camel’s back and Gotham can do more than just watch #They can act. And they do NOT like how the city has been handled #And because i personally am a Jason Todd Is Correct And Did Nothing Wrong Truther I think they’d help Jason #Freshly Red-Hooded Jason Todd hasn’t even revealed himself to Bruce yet goes to his favorite bookstore #And the lady who worked the counter who always seemed a little off is…. Watching Him #This would be a very fun and spooky premise is Gotham possessing their body are they sharing it with the person #Is it a “they were Gotham the whole time” situation. What does Gotham do do they use their newfound agency to do vigilantism #If so how #Ghost of the city haunting itself wreaking mayhem and Batman thinks it’s an invasion but really it’s an immune system #Gotham killing the joker like a white blood cell kills a germ #It FINALLY has enough strength to defend itself and good lord has Batman not been pulling his weight in the disinfectant department #Half the city is on fire and when asked Gotham is like “bro I have a fever I am smoking out the virus”#Gotham Knighting red hood (and also probably Solomon Grundy?) like a queen choosing her court.#Red hood pretends he’s chill but secretly his dramatic romantic Jane Austin ass is screaming in excitement #He was just KNIGHTED. By a NOBLE LADY (who is… also a city?) and BATMAN WASNT. TAKE THAT BRUCE.#I do love the idea that Solomon Grundy is involved in this I like him #Waylon Jones too I think half the Gotham villains are within the level of violence she’d accept and even respect #Maybe Damian hasn’t been revealed to Bruce yet bc Ras hears about the Gotham situation and decides to wait #So now there’s beef between a literal city and an immortal dude over Batman’s kid #Jason stealing and raising Damian coparenting with a manifestation of several centuries of city curses and ensouled buildings #I imagine her normal human body as like. If Morticia Addams wore cardigans. And was built like a bruiser #Gotham is an old buff woman angry at the world for daring to touch her children

This is the 4th time I’ve had to interact with my boyfriend’s ex while @ work and it is always so awkward bc it gives me a heart attack anticipating the day she could recognise me.

I’ve never told my boyfriend tt I know who she is & how often we’ve come in contact. It’s always random and unexpected.
