What is the absolute perfect birthday present for your character? What would they do with this present?

I actually got my blogs mixed up and reblogged your post with my main, which is why I got the ask on this blog and I will answer it here! I’ll just reblog it on my writeblr later XD

So, birthday presents ! I’ll talk a little bit about Ice Fingers for this one, and the character I choose is Ifris!

The direct answer is : a scarf. Ifris LOVES scarves, even though she is a kryell and therefore can’t feel the cold. There is something about the soft material, the patterns, the colours, the movement of draping herself in the cloth that she just adores. No matter how many scarves she has, she’ll always be over the moon to receive a new one and she will wear it. She always loves to go on random walks through the woods wearing her new scarf, and she can spend hours in front of her mirror trying to make flowers grow in her hair that match the colour of whatever scarf she’s trying on 🌷🌸

Ice Fingers : Characters Intros

Eiryn – The Pale Woodcarver (Main Character)

20 years old, cis she/her, lesbian

full name : Eiryn Astrafùr

first name meaning : "skilled fingers"

appearance : not very tall, nice amount of muscles, very agile ; pale skin, heart-shaped face with pale blue eyes and wavy white hair, around shoulder-length.

family : orphaned, no brothers or sisters

past : both her parents were hunters in the village of Dalir, in the county of Icy Roots ; they were killed when a hunting trip went wrong and a pack of scaled wolves attacked the same deer they were planning to kill. Eiryn was six, and she went to live with Nevrel’s family when she found herself on her own. She and Nevrel became very close, sharing a strong curiosity towards their world and its secrets, and they trained together with the Elder of the village. Eiryn, although very agile, didn’t like close-up combat like Nevrel and preferred archery, but she doesn’t like it that much either. She joined Marsson’s woodcarving workshop at the age of thirteen and now, a year after Nevrel left, she is on the verge of becoming a fully-fledged carver herself.

personality : very strong-minded and stubborn, Eiryn is determined in everything she does and is easily focused ; good at understanding human emotions and reactions, but bad at reacting to them and providing comfort when it’s needed - Ifris usually does that in her place. Since what happened to her parents, she has a fierce hatred towards scaled wolves, so much so that they are the only living creature she was always too scared of to carve. When Nevrel goes missing, she is willing to do anything in her power to find him and make things right again.

Ifris – The Fair Young Root

6-7 years old (which corresponds to 18 human years), female kryell, interested in males both kryell and/or human

full name : doesn’t have one, the people of Dalir call her Ifris Fairleaf

first name meaning : "icy soil"

appearance : very white glassy skin that becomes transparent on her hands, feet, ears and shoulders ; she has seven fingers and pointed ears, long smooth white hair, branches and white flowers grow on her skull and she sometimes uses them to test out hairstyles. She’s very thin and, due to her non-human nature, she can’t feel the cold and can regrow a part of her body if it’s cut off.

family : the kryell people (kryalla) are closer to trees than to humans, and also live a lot less (around a third of a normal human life) ; they have earth-related powers and live close to or amongst humans, so they can use their powers to keep the soil warm enough to grow crops. Ifris’s family lives in a small kryell village close to Dalir, she has a whole family and a good dozen of siblings.

past : nothing much is to be said ; when Eiryn and Nevrel visited the kryell village some time after her birth, she immediately formed a bond with them and they became friends. She went to see humans and decided to live amongst them, now working on the fields and as a waitress in the village Inn.

personality : warm and welcoming, she always has a smile on her face and brings comfort to anyone who needs it at any time. The only moments you could see her cry is when she sees or lives something very beautiful and is struck by the fact that she won't live for very long, and that it might be the last time she sees that / feels that way. But even when in those moments of sadness, she smiles under her tears.

Stellar – The Stargazing Poet

19 year old, cis she/her, lesbian

full name : Stellar Lùnn Faljandir

first name meaning : "unending”, “eternal”, “everlasting"

appearance : smaller than Eiryn, she has long, wavy brown hair, tanned skin than glows like gold and her cheeks are covered in dark freckles

family : her mother died, her father works in the Royal Library in Eyjara ; she has a younger sister named Ellari.

past : her family originates from another county, Ravenwing (the capital is in the county of the Crowned Blade whereas Dalir is in the county of Icy Roots), and her parents and her uncle moved to Eyjara when she was a little girl, so she hardly remembers it ; her sister wasn't even born yet. Her mother died in childbirth when Stellar's sister was born in the wild, and her uncle disappeared a few days later in the forest, so her father, her baby sister and her had to get to the capital alone. When they got to Eyjara, her father found help for Ellari and got himself a job in the Royal Library, often taking Stellar with him. So she grew up surrounded by books, and they became one of her passions along with the night sky.

personality : she's quiet, but not necessarily shy and doesn't hesitate to make the first step and engage conversation with someone. She loves writing, especially poems and songs, and studying the stars and constellations at night with a grin on her face. Whereas Eiryn is still somewhat bitter about what happened to her parents, Stellar is much more tempered and accepted the events as part of her, often writing loving letters to her mother and dedicating her a few of her poems. The wonder and beauty she sees in the world make her shine a little, like the moon, to those around her.
