While making my first commission gown in Philly (years ago) just after the @alexandermcqueen show at the @metmuseum I was reading the book Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty. Quotes like “Most of [this collection] was built on remnants from fabric shops. I think I made most everything my self” He inspired me to think big with the little I had. On my commission gown I hit a wall & went to sleep. In my dream I was working on the gown, and take a step back from the dress form to see Alexander McQueen standing next to me. He pinches the fabric along with the sideseam and says “this works” and smiled. Then I saw a runway show full of my designs. I woke up, finished the dress. It was the first gown I made that was published. Fast forward to now... dreams come true, they just take time and constant effort.
