Canon EOS 250D Taken on 03/04/2022. The ruins of the ancient city of Falerii Novi extend on a slope located halfway between the town of Fabrica di Roma and Civita Castellana. The ruins, for the most part covered in vegetation, make the visitor feel as if they have been teleported back in time where buildings of Etruscan–Faliscan, Roman and medieval origin overlap. An impressive building in this off-the-tourist-trail area of northern Lazio has got to be the Abbey of Santa Maria di Falerii which dates back to the first half of the 12th century. This Romanesque church boasts a glorious facade with a large rose window at the top, and its elegant interior consists of three naves, each divided by Doric-style columns.
