These last two weeks have been some Very Trying Times to live through (can I *please* stop living through major historical events???!), so @kyle.belmont and I went to lunch at @freddysusa for comfort food. Dog Days (by, Duke the Dog)

They call them “dog days” but they’re not,

these summer days so loud and hot,

I do not like these summer days,

I do not like them in any way.

I do not like them as a rule,

I do not like them by the pool,

I do not like them while in bed,

I will not like them when I’m dead.

These thunder storms, they make me shake,

they make me tremble, quiver, quake,

they make me pant and make me drool

which makes me seem a crazy fool.

And when they’re done, it’s hot and muggy,

and not just that, but hot and buggy,

with ticks and gnats and flies and fleas,

and save me from mosquitoes, please!

It’s so damn hot, it feels like death,

I cannot even catch my breath,

but breathing hard is all I get

because I don’t have glands for sweat.

Whoever named these days for dogs

perhaps thinks winter’s good for frogs

and springtime’s when the leaves do blow

and fall is when the flowers grow.

Oh, what I wouldn’t do for snow!

when temperatures are 10 below

instead of broiling summer heat

that bakes my fur and burns my feet.

So in conclusion, let me say

I do not like these summer days,

I do not like them much at all,

I cannot wait until it’s fall…

I almost didn’t even post today. It’s burning tf up in my apt & the heat is DRAINING me. My air conditioner has been broken since last gd year.
