We've been sort of teasing this for a while, but we're hosting a CONTEST for people to have their characters appear as cameos in I Hope So! Please read the (full) attached image for details. c: We don't have an exact number of entries that we're going to pick, but we will be aiming for a number that we can fit easily into the remainder of the comic. Hope to see all your awesome lion characters and good luck to you all. ^^

A little lionsona created for the @ihopesocomic contest! Here’s just a snippet of personality/story I’ve given her 🤍 ->

Estrella, formerly Nightlite, is a wandering maned lioness who moves around usually at night, given her namesake. She is truly in love with the night sky and the countless stories the constellations tell her. Oftentimes climbing the highest trees or hills just to feel closer to the endless abyss of the night sky.

She is a fairly small young adult lioness, which makes her quiet and light on her feet; a stealthy hunter and often spooks others on incident with her light pawsteps. Always lost in her thoughts and listens too well on conversation of others. Is very sensitive to loud noises and is a light sleeper, which leads her to exhaustion and only a few hours of sleep most days.

She has no through direction to go and prefers to travel wherever the Traveler may lead her. While she may appear like a loner, she enjoys company more than anything and hopes to find that special someone to travel alongside her, maybe settling somewhere peaceful someday. 🌌

I truly am in love with the series, from its characters, to the beautiful artistic backgrounds, the story, the setting, and world building! Truly an inspiring series and y’all should check it out! 🦁

Honestly, I’ve always wanted to make a lionsona and will definitely have her as an alternative to my wolfsona 🐺🦁 I hope y’all enjoy her 🤍

Something fun! Been keeping up with “I Hope So” and I just. Adore it. I really do. Decided to enter their contest!

This is Gully! They’re a goof. Thought it could be fun to have a pride named after land formations. Her parent’s names are Rift and Crag :) (This can be ignored for storyline’s sake ofc if they’re chosen hehe)

I recently discovered the comic “I hope so” and it’s absolutely amazing! I really like how it’s going so far and can’t wait to see how it all develops! Buuut this post is to enter the current contest going on!

So first up! Meet Big Tooth! Or “Gramps” as he’s commonly nicknamed. The old loner has grown very fond of the nickname. “I’m Big Tooth, but call me Gramps if you’d like.”

Big Tooth lead a pride side by side with his brother, however due to Big’s splayed hind legs, weird eye, and the out of place tooth that earned him his name, he wasn’t every lionesses first choice genetically. However his twin brother, Raspy, was. The brothers were very close and lead for a few years, Big Tooth gaining popularity as the prides unofficial story teller and records keeper. He was a very dedicated uncle and friend to the Cubs and lionesses. And later in life, when Rasp had unfortunately past away, Big Tooth stuck around the pride as he couldn’t leave his friends and nieces/nephews alone without a male to protect them..however when a young male came around that Big thought was well enough…he left the pride with some goodbyes and decided to become a loner. Always with a good story or two..or five…up his sleeve. “You know, my niece was name Grand and she was perfect and…” or “back in my day…” or even “what happened to you? I had a buddy you know who had the same…”. He’s a good old grandpa who loves his chats with well meaning lions and other big cats if he has the opportunity. Sometimes if things get really hard he’ll try tagging along or shadowing a pride temporarily. Even with his eyes and ears not being as great as they used to be he gets along fine, he’s still a big old fluffy man who wants friends.

And second up!! Tracker! And older character based off of a Lioden character I had.

Tracker is a very stunted lionesses. Even from a young age her legs were too short and her face too smushed…something wrong it seemed. But as long as she fought to live her parents decided to keep her alive. When she stopped growing at about half size, although odd, she proved herself to be very useful in tracking always able to find her parents or pride mates it seemed. After an accident while tracking on a hunt she was left with heavy scarring on one side and went deaf in the ear on her injured side. But she still tries her best. She’s sarcastic and flirtatious (no preference) as they say the small ones have big personality!

Decided to throw my hat into the I Hope So character contest, since, hey I’ve got a lion character sitting on my shelf collecting dust. Came up with him when my friends and I were thinking up funny lion names a while back. Everyone loved his name, so I ended up drawing him.
This here is Manemane. He’s a sweet, gentle, maneless lion, who just likes lounging about. His lioness friends do all the hunting and patrolling, because Manemane’s pretty useless at survival. He’s plagued with awkwardness, watery eyes and sniffles. But his perpetual allergies do have one advantage - his sneeze is loud enough to scare off any rival male. He’s otherwise pretty terrible at being a lion, but when he’s with his friends he feels like he’s the King of the whole savanna.

@ihopesocomic is a lion comic that I’m reading right now and it’s really intriguing so far! They’re running a character design contest so I thought I’d throw my hat into the ring with these two!

Obscure (they/them)’s design was inspired by the Pharaoh Eagle Owl and Iroko (she/her)’s by the wood of the tree she’s named for :D These guys were so much fun to draw, I can’t wait to see everybody else’s entries. Good luck, everyone!

My entry for @ihopesocomic‘s cameo contest! I don’t have a lot of info to share for her yet, but I think that works because she’s meant to be very mysterious. She’s also transgender, donning a violet in her curly mane as her namesake. Violetta was born to a Traveller family and never had much experience or interaction with Prides, her family stayed pretty clear and kept their lives low-risk. As she got older, every day she strayed further and further from her family as she ventured around the lands, until one day she just kept going. She’s quiet, and keeps to herself, alone by choice. She’s rarely met other animals on her journeys and prefers to watch from afar, only approaching someone if she believes they’re in need of help. Because of this, she’s more often seen in the distance, a beautiful stranger, those who see her only catch a glimpse until she’s gone. Whispers of a beautiful giant spread through the lands she’s touched, and she cam’t help but smile at that thought.

Last minute entry!

It's been a long long time since I actually drew and finished anything (as can be seen in my deviantArt), and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to drag myself from my funk for this, but I knew I'd really regret it if I didn't even try. I mean, the worst that can happen is that I don't win, yeah?

So here's a lion that took way to long to design and draw due to how rusty I am. But I'm pretty happy with how she turned out! :) I love golden and silver color-schemes. And I know that even if by some miracle I do win, that the names/summary won't be used, but it was just fun to add. I’d imagine she’s part of the Thundering Mountain pride, where she tries her best to not get asked to join in hunts by hiding in dens or bushes in a pinch. She’s scared of being hurt by the prey, and if she must hunt, she always goes for birds or other small animals. Luckily, she likes kids a lot. So she’s usually chosen to babysit instead, since the pride doesn’t much want to bring her on hunts either; it’s not very productive to have a member hide from the animal they’re supposed to chase...
