the shrieks ripping through her throat, the desperate calls of ‘ pidge please look at me! ’. it seemed distant. a far off echo of a nightmare she prays to wake up from. silent and holding on tightly to a warm body like she’d disappear if she let go. thrashing, screaming, kicking, clawing. the skin on her wrist burned as the other attempted to pry out of vice grip. the trembling running up along her spine a sign of her terror, yet there was not a tear. not a whimper. just her shaking breathes of each inhale then exhale. these twenty minutes were not a blur, but completely gone from memory. when had pidge slumped back into her arms and remained silent? when had matt managed to pull her out of allura’s grasp and into his own? when had her own heart slowed its quickened pace and allowed oxygen to fill her lungs in proper motion? she didn’t know. / @iingeniious
