5. something you see in fics a lot and love

this is kinda tough because i tend to choose specific tags on ao3 so i see a lot of the same stuff in fics based on those. and it’s usually angsty stuff hehe so idk how common it REALLY is, but ive read quite a few pynch fics (usually no supernatural) where ronan is an artist either at school or as a hobby/career and i just kinda love the idea of him being an artist :) it seems kinda fitting (or maybe i’m just projecting) also tattoo artist!!!! ♡

7. your favorite tropes to read/write/draw

one of my fav tropes to draw lately are kid AUs :) both my fav characters having non-canon children and drawing my fav characters as children lol i get bursts of baby fever and none of my friends are having kids so so i gotta draw some :/ also love putting my fav sad guys in loving situations!

fav trope to read (in fic) is always hurt/comfort stuff. love a good mental health issue. genuinely love a there’s only one bed trope fjfnfjfn SORRY. ALSO SICK FICS!!! give those characters a cold!!!!!

8. you hope more people will come to appreciate ___ (a ship, a trope, an episode, etc)

tbh. rovinsky :) love my beautiful rovinsky mutuals but i feel like i need more. actually, to go back to my fav fic tropes, i love reading fic that has unhealthy rovinsky with (healthy?) pynch endgame jcfnfjfb specific but common enough in fic and i eat it up every time!

It wasn't until the man turned, his attention snagged by a bird or a child calling out, that Jean was able to catch a glimpse of his face and confirm that the Master wasn't in the same park as him. Jean couldn't breathe until that moment, and as he regained an awareness of his surroundings, embarrassment took over.

It had been more than a year. He'd been a witness in court and had watched the Master be declared guilty. The man was behind bars. Jean had even gone to therapy for it. He had to remind himself of what Betsy always said, though: that it was never going to go away. Not completely. That it was a part of who he was, and that it would be something he would have to work on for the rest of his life.

Etienne's tail swished back and forth across the floor. Jean took that as a "yes."

Only then did Jean look at his bed, set to a height that fit snugly over his dresser. He then looked at Etienne, who was definitely not tall enough to jump onto the bed.

He cursed under his breath. Of course getting a dog would require a massive amount of reorganizing in the room. He'd just hoped it wouldn't require such a dramatic change.

Brief Description: Neil has a sister who grows up in the Nest until she's able to join the Foxes following Riko's death. A year after the events of Baltimore, an accident on the court leaves her without any memory of her brother, herself, or anything else.

Brief Description: Jean would do anything for Kevin—teach him forbidden languages, pass love letters to someone that isn't Jean, and even promise to keep himself alive. He would follow him anywhere—on or off the Court. It's hopeless and always has been, but that doesn't mean that Jean has to be. If he waits long enough, Jean hopes that Kevin will finally pull his eyes away from the Court and turn around to see that he's been standing there all along.

Jean just never anticipated it being a death blow when Kevin finally does look his way.

Julien's eyes sparkled as he nodded. Jean pinched his lips into a smile, then nodded his head in Etienne's direction. "She's pretty good at her job, isn't she?"

Julien mirrored Jean's smile and stretched his hand out to Etienne, letting her sniff it and push her muzzle into his outstretched fingers before petting her.

The trail turned out to be one of Jean's favorites that he'd gone to since he'd moved to Los Angeles. The Hollywood sign was visible from the park, and there was a thick canopy of leaves that were starting to turn color. It was, despite the population of the city and the business of the streets, relatively quiet, save for the sounds of a few other dogs barking.

After only seven minutes after they had started to walk, Jean felt a tap on his hand. He watched as Julien went to the side of the path and picked something up, then came back.

"What did you find?" Jean asked, bending down to Julien's level.

Etienne immediately dropped into the grass, rolling and twisting herself around every which way as though she was praising the earth beneath her paws that the car ride was over. Thankfully, most of the Trojans had headed out already for the fall break, and it was still early enough in the day that those who had stayed on campus were most likely still in bed. As a result, they didn't have to worry about an onslaught of excited athletes bombarding the poor dog.

Jean crouched down again and offered her his hand to sniff. Instead, she shoved her muzzle into the palm of his hand and rolled so that she could stare up at him.

"You know, she probably wants you to rub her belly," Jeremy said, a smirk on his lips.

[Since I've been doing a lot of revision of Chapter Five, I'm going to actually post a section that got some TLC today as a sneak peek! <3]

“Good. I just hope that this last year was the most eventful of our careers,” Jeremy said, wiping his hands off on a napkin. “The Foxes will keep making headlines, but that’s to be expected. I just hope next year calms down a bit.”

Jean nodded, sipping his soda. There had been several noteworthy scares in collegiate Exy that year—Seth’s hospitalization, followed by Andrew’s hospitalization, Neil’s kidnapping, and then Riko’s death. In the end, Riko's death had been declared a suicide, but Jean knew, deep down, that Riko had been killed. It wasn’t that he doubted that Riko could have killed himself—it was rather that he doubted that Riko actually would’ve. Jean knew better than to give voice to that suspicion, however. 

“At least something good came out of it all,” Jeremy said, offering Jean a soft smile and nudging Jean’s foot with his own under the table.
