            The first time he kisses her it's him being an asshole. A quick lean in, followed by the hot swipe of his tongue against her mouth before pulling away and laughing. Jade would have been more angry at him for it if the punch she slugged at him had missed. But it hadn't, and there was something satisfying about seeing Ike land on his ass.

                   The second time was out of fear. Ike thought they were going to die, everyone thought they were going to die. Casey was splitting them up, murmuring how they had a better chance of survival that way. But before Casey could pull Jade along with her Ike had taken Jade's wrist and pulled her closer. It was too rushed, his mouth barely pressed to the right corner of hers. A desperate attempt to express something that needed time to be said where there was none.

                   The third she initiated. A strong, small hand in his hair, gripping too hard at the thought of him pulling away. For several moments he doesn't react, eyes wide and searching. Until his hand touches her face gently and then they're kissing for real, both consenting and giving and taking. It's not what Jade expected, and it wasn't something Ike thought he was capable of but. They've become each others anchors. Here, in this hellhole, following Casey and her destructive path to their freedom that neither or them or sure they'll reach or deserve.
