BADAN Pusat Statistik DIY mengungkapkan Indeks Ketimpangan Gender (IKG) Provinsi DIY pad 2025 sebesar 0,153, turun 0,010 poin dibandingkan 2024 (0,163).

IKG merupakan indikator yang mengukur ketimpangan antara laki-laki dan perempuan pada dimensi kesehatan reproduksi, pemberdayaan, dan pasar tenaga kerja. Dengan nilai yang semakin mendekati 0 menunjukkan kesetaraan gender yang semakin baik.

Penurunan ini, kata Plt. Kepala BPS DIY Ir. Endang Tri Wahyuningsih, MM di Kantor BPS DIY Ringroad Barat, Bantul, Selasa menunjukkan perbaikan kesetaraan gender di DIY.

Secara nasional, ujarnya IKG DIY lebih rendah dibandingkan IKG Indonesia (0,402) dan menempatkan DIY pada peringkat kedua terendah setelah DKI Jakarta (0,144).
