I was pretty excited when I saw your prompts. All of them gave me some ideas, but in the end I ended up going with Swagger Bishie/Teddy Ghost and combining it with wings :) It's been a while since I have drawn any kind of wing AU, but they are always fun.
I need to ask, did the tigerghost crackship start out because the Danny x Manny naming scheme matched the Timmy x Jimmy one? :P
I literally know almost nothing about most of these characters, but thanks to your art I am now super invested and want them all to be happy and healthy, and I ship characters I didn't even know existed. Thank you for the brainrot XD
you are actually dead on, literally when i started including jenny and manny i thought of pairing dannymanny as a funny haha jab at jimmytimmy, like wow their nicknames happen to rhyme too lol!!! then i started noticing they have a few similarities with the obvious being they both started off as teen heroes with green themed powers, their eyes turn green in their alter egos, they both have a powerful shout-based power (ghostly wail vs tigre roar)(at least manny WOULD HAVE ONE IF HE ACTUALLY LEARNED THE ROAR BUT ALAS THE SHOW ONLY LASTED 1 SEASON i will just assume he does get it eventually when he grows up). and this one is a bit funny more than anything but both Sam and Frida, the main female leads of the show, are voiced by Grey DeLisle lol
then it moved onto seeing how they contrast with eachother too, because they got the fire and ice dynamic going on, literally because manny's abilities have a fire theme while danny's got his ice core. they also contrast with their openness about their identity (danny's was kept secret, while manny being el tigre was public knowledge)
anyways it all went downhill from there need i say more
18th lineart for this year's @green-with-envy-phandom-event
Chronokinetic ghosts can be downright unnerving! They invite you tp an appointment for tea (even though you don't want to have it) and when you get there you find a giant stained glass window of you (looking sulky because you didn't want to go) that the guy commissioned in the past providing an image of you looking sulky in the future that he had already foreseen. And all for a laugh at your expense!
This is a collaboration: lines by @ikiracake and color by Furiarossa (because this year the artist duo Furiarossa&Mimma is split in half! We'll be competing against each other, in two different teams... but still, all the stuff will be posted on the same Tumblr account, or Patreon, or wherever you follow us)
And here's a new feature! Since we're working on a card game, and we want to give all the other participants (and spectators of this event) a fun "demo", we've decided that each of the completed illustrations will be used to make a "Let's Play! Overlord" (more details in the future) card.
All the cards will then be collected at the end in a pdf file and will be freely available to everyone, becoming a print-to-play game that we hope will be fun, and that will include easter eggs and other little treats, but will also be perfectly playable within the main game.
So here is the 18th card of this special promo set: Glimpse of present.
(Of course, if the artist who created the lineart does not want their illustration to be included in the final pdf with the other printable and playable cards, just let us know and the card will not be included, obviously!)
[Oh, and a lot more of our Danny Phantom fanarts: Here’s our tag]
Okay then follow up question. Now that you're a merperson, what aquatic friend is your go-to companion? Octopus? Shark?
👀
So I got a bit invested in this.. *sweats*
And this post got way longer than I expected. I tried not to blabber on too much, but... uh... I still added a lot laskjfslk
Since this post is so long (with images too!), I'll put it all under the cut for easier scrolling!
SO,
My first choice would have to be a seahorse or a clownfish :3
The little guy(s) could cling to or hide in my hair, tickling my neck or something as they play. I imagine the seahorse would be the worrywart since they can't swim very well. The clown fish would be a worrier too, but would disguise it with humor.
If I were to pick a larger creature, it would have to be a bottlenose, a spinner, or a dusky dolphin, as they tend to be very smart, inquisitive creatures.
The bottlenose dolphin is one of the most common types of dolphins and probably the most well-known around the eastern coast of North America. They are super smart and are known to have a "high tolerance" for humans regardless of age or gender (this makes them sound like the exasperated mom telling her children to stop poking each other). They are also known for fighting sharks, jabbing them in the abdomen or gills with their strong snouts, causing severe internal damage (they'll go so far as hunting sharks and eating them too!). Additionally, they can be very protective of humans.
The Spinner dolphin is one of the most acrobatic types of dolphins, often jumping up and "spinning" up to seven times mid-jump before landing in the water again. They also tend to charge predators (like sharks) similarly to the Bottlenose Dolphin.
The Dusky dolphins are just,
very pretty 🤭
I mean, just loOK:
LOOK HOW PRETTY
Dusky Dolphine also love to play and leap, much like the others. Unfortunetly, they are being hunted off the coast of Peru for shark bait and human consumption despite a ban. They are now an endangered species.
If I couldn't pick a dolphin (just for originality's sake), I would have to go with a manta ray. Specifically, the Reef Manta Ray, Blue Spotted Stingray, or Butterfly Ray.
The Reef Manta Ray is one of the largest rays in the world, reaching a disc size up to 16ft (5m). Most of the time, though, they are seen only as big as 11ft (3m) big. These rays do not have any barbs, a stinger, or teeth. Out of fight, flight, or freeze, these guys only have flight. They swallow their food whole.
The Blue Spotted Stingray are typically a pale or dull yellow in color with electric blue spots. Despite their eye-catching details (to humans), these lil guys are very timid. They like to hide and stay out of the spotlight. Despite this, their stingers are very painful (not known to kill... yet) and can cause nausea, muscle cramps, and possibly shortness of breath.
Finally, the Butterfly Ray is another large ray, reaching up to 13ft (4m) in disc size with extremely wide pectoral fins that resemble butterfly wings (hence the name). Comparatively, they have very short tails.
BUT there are other creatures too!!
The Dumbo octopus and the umbrella octopus are really cute, and I simply MUST share them 🙃
They also get confused often because they look so similar..
Literally named after Disney's Dumbo, the Dumbo octopus has two prominent ear-like fins that extend from the mantle above each eye. They can only be found in highly pressurized waters (deep ocean) and the are the deepest living octopi known.
Umbrella octopuses are characterized by a web of skin connecting their arms, resembling an umbrella when spread their legs. They also have "ears" like the Dumbo octopus, but they tend to be smaller and act only as stabilizers.
After talking about them, I must also share the Vampire Squid or as scientists lovingly called it "the squid from hell." But its not a squid! It not an octopus either! They don't know what it is! (At least, not at first). The Vampire squid had to be put in its own class because its so different! This guy has bioluminescent organs and thrives in low-oxygenated waters.
Now, if I were to go mythological, I'd prolly pick a Hippocampus (like from PJ).
This might be the hardest ask I've ever gotten. The shoebill popped into my head first because those birds are weird and cool and I love them. And then I saw the Red Crested Turaco when frantically googling birds and that guy is a whole vibe
But then I realized you said kind of bird and not just bird, and that...did not make my decision any easier. Can I cop-out and make it a three-way tie? First and second favourite were so easy (corvids and penguins). But third place is so hard. I'm torn between finches (pretty), woodpeckers (would see them at the house growing up and I just like them) and hummingbirds (pretty!)
Oh man but there are so many good ducks, too...And I'm probably not even considering birds from other regions enough! Cake, how could you do this to me
