hyunwoo never liked drifting away from others, but that didn't mean he didn't know how to avoid it. he forgets easily. forgets to reply back to texts after reading them, forgets to wish happy birthdays on facebook even when the application reminds him, forgets to ask others how they've been doing. he was never the type to be good at maintaining connections with others, especially if 'others' were exes of his. then he was really bad at it. awful, actually.
the last relationship he had was fine- nearly perfect in his opinion. having worked together on the leader's last album for her group, the two had clicked instantly. their creative processes aligned in perfect symmetry, and though the two had came with their separate baggage, they both somehow managed to drop it off behind- not needing to be reminded of such things, when they could simply focus on each other.
and thinking of the relationship, hyunwoo found there nostalgia, memories, felt himself smiling at the memories; it had been golden, he thought, only became a hell much later, near the end of it; when his limbs grew too far stretched, when things just didn't go right anymore. forgotten baggage comes back to remind them and they find themselves stuck.
it's getting late and listening to drake doesn't help his current state of mind. he doesn't even catch himself this time when his hand reaches out for his phones and his fingers make their way into his contacts list and begin typing away.

with rushed thumbs dancing across the screen, a new wave of regret crashes on shore every time he hits send. reading over the messages and cringing at how progressively clingy a person can sound in a kakao chat, hyunwoo throws his head back and groans in frustration. though, even then, dark orbs still keep some attention on the screen, waiting for yellow ‘1’s next to the messages to disappear with hope.
