After some ever so slight mail snafus, I finally got my OFMD affirmation cards by @illustoryart (also big shout out to them for getting the whole mail situation sorted so quickly and effectively)! They’re SO pretty and so nice you guys ❤️ Everybody needs to go to their shop immediately and buy ALL of their art.

ARTIST OF THE WEEK

The aotw for this weekend is the lovely @illustoryart whose affirmation deck most of us have, and if you haven't seen their incredibly detailed art around on your dash, today you will <3 They agreed to answer a few questions for me-

Which do you use to draw (app/digital or traditional)?

I used to draw more traditional art, but most of my OFMD fanarts are made in Procreate.

Fave brushes/pencils/mediums?

I have fave watercolor pencils, Caran D'Ache Supracolor Soft ❤️

Your favourite piece you've drawn?

That's a tough question, because it's not a constant. But I'm really proud of my OFMD Affirmation Deck :з

Who's harder to draw: Ed or Stede?

For me it's Stede (too beautiful to be captured in drawing 😍)

One essential tip for beginner artists?

Draw every day and don't be ashamed to use references. It's okay to learn from photos and other artists' works. Just make sure your refs are not AI generated 😅

Why OFMD? 🥹

Because it's a perfect combination of queer pirates, historical inaccuracies, found family trope, comedy, romance and drama 💔

Oh, and absolutely perfect cast and crew! ❤️‍🔥

Life’s been real busy and tough with work and the workshop I’m taking, but a great amount of joy found its way to me today when I got in the mail my GO artbook by @illustoryart!!! 💕✨🥰❤️

It’s the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever possessed, filled with love and joy in every little corner 😭🥰❤️✨💕

If I may, I’d like to add a little spoiler, if only because it was my absolute favorite text on the book…

“If you want to imagine the future […] Imagine the pair of them looking at each other and smiling”

… is the most sweet and delightful thing I could’ve ever come across. And it’s exactly the energy I’ll have with Good Omens from now on. These characters mean so much to me, and despite everything (after a long time) I see them with the same love I’ve always had for them; because they’re mine now.

And so I’ll imagine them, softly looking into each other eyes’ in the South Downs cottage, quietly and happily living their lives.

Sorry if it’s sappy, I’ve never written down how I feel about them lately, and the art book is just so wonderful it made me a bit sentimental ❤️✨💕

So, anyway, thank you SO MUCH @illustoryart, hope that you’re better and may your art still make happiness arrive at people’s lives, specially yours!!! 💕✨🥰❤️💕✨❤️
