I HAVE NEVER, EVER BEEN HAPPIER 😭
"I only want one thing, and that's not what this is about anymore" fucking eviscerated me
Go3 Spoilers
Why did you give me them just to take them away?
things i loved about the finale (that aren't related to the ending)
MICHAEL. just michael. everything about them from start to finish
crowley being willing to give up the bentley to protect aziraphale's bookshop and then still not living in it
muriel and their character development
THE COSTUMES AND OUTFITS
the way michael killed sandalphon and uriel, i love how they're burned into the wall with their wings out
the metatron showing up for like 10 seconds just to be immediately murdered. queenshit. amazing. you can never make me hate michael
crowley and his lil plant he carries around at the beginning
aziraphale and muriel cosplaying as demons (surprisingly well!)
saraqael knowing exactly what's going on but also really not giving a fuck
jesus getting adopted by a random guy he meets and spreading happiness with pizza
michael slowly ripping apart the book of life after realizing the entire universe is working as intended and needs to be burned down
also michael not giving a single shit about what aziraphale was saying. he tried and failed.
crowley's hair. his anger. getting drunk and staying drunk. not forgiving aziraphale the second he is back. refusing to play their 6k years long game. being honest and blunt. not backing down. finding joy in the small things.
the nightingale
On one hand, it wasn't that horrible ending.
On the other, even Castiel said "I love you".
not finished yet but every single scene is soooo rushed it actually hurts 😭 you can tell the first 20 minutes were supposed to be two whole ass episodes god imagine if they didn’t get nuked to this film
Can't wait to see a drastic uptake of fix it fics in the next week. It wasn't all bad, but wowie.
DID YOU SEE JESUS AND ADAM (ANTICHRIST) GETTING DRINKS TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to feel happy, but I can't. Not when their only kiss was a last resort. Not when they only held hands out of necessity and then once at the very end of their lives. Not when it feels like in the end, God still won and they lost.
I'm happy they live on in another universe, but my heart breaks for the angel and demon who sacrificed everything, everything, for the sake of the greater good.
We're a team, a group. Group of the two of us
The destruction of the entire universe and every soul in it is a truly depressing ending. Just because God replaced it with another universe that looked similar doesn't change anything - this is Job and his children all over again. Job doesn't want new children, and neither do I.
that post that's like. fans have got too used to acting as stakeholders. media analysis is about the narrative intentions not a checklist of what fans want. i think criticism of the finale because it didn't include specific elements we wanted to see is separate (if sometimes intertwined) from whether the narrative worked overall. because as an overall arc it makes sense. from the start they wanted an earth where humans could live their lives free to make their own choices, without interference or pre-determined rules and plans and divisions into heaven and hell. crowley believed the system couldn't be fixed, aziraphale believed god could be reasoned with, and in the end they were both right and they both got what they wanted: a chance for humans and them to make choices that were true to who they were. for crowley and aziraphale that was choosing each other. it always would be
