Next stop, Dumaguette. We were going to take a bus from Moalboal to the Liloan ferry port but we met a Canadian couple at the bus stop who wanted to split a taxi with us. They had been waiting for the bus for nearly an hour already and said they hadn’t seen a single southbound bus which was suppose to come every 30 minutes. Being that I had a sore butt, I decided it might have been worth the extra bucks for a nice private car than a crowded bumpy bus! This was a good decision, especially since after the ferry to the Negros, we took a bumpy trike, then a crowded jeepney (reconverted jeep made into a bus) to our hotel. Yowza I was hurting after that trip.
The next day we went to Apo Island for some snorkeling. Best snorkeling spot by far with beautiful coral, lots of colorful fish, and sea turtles! On the way back we even got to see a whale shark... at least its fin! A nice treat since we had decided to skip the city of Oslob, a city well known for letting you swim with whale sharks but we had read it was a bit of a zoo and is possibly detrimental to the whale sharks because they are often touched leading to bacterial infections and fed leading to disruptions in their migratory habits.
